Okay friends, now that I have unlimited WiFi and can watch Netflix all day if I want, I need your recommendations. I've got a lot of catching up to do.
I also can watch Amazon Prime shows and Youtube videos on my new Smart TV so your recommendations there will be
appreciated also:-)

I'm afraid I'll be of no help to you with this.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay Delores:-)
DeleteEnjoy infinite entertainment and immeasurable pleasure with unlimited wifi and Netflix !
ReplyDeleteRam, it is indeed infinite entertainment and immeasurable pleasure but not good for my health so I've got to learn some balance.
DeleteI don't have those options so I am no help. Enjoy all the possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI an truly taken in by all the options available to me now that I have unlimited WiFi. Surely I will slow down soon.
DeleteI don't have Netflix or Amazon Prime but I love watching clips on Youtube and follow a few vlogs.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Do you ever watch Ridiculousness on television. It is all terrible YouTube videos and it hurts to watch but I can't stop. LOL
DeleteI have both but never watch either, so I have no suggestions Annie.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay. You do lots of more interesting things anyway.
DeleteBelow are a few for you to consider. They are the ones I like...some more than others.
ReplyDeleteYounger, Bloodline, Outlander, Justified, Ray Donovan, Billions, The Affair, Animal Kingdom, Ozark, The Sinner, Luther, House of Cards, The Crown, Mindhunter, Peaky Blinders, Boardwalk Empire, Riverdale, Marcella, Crossing Lines, River, Grace & Frankie, Designated Survivor, Shooter, The Killing, Good Behavior, The Honourable Woman....
Annie...some of the series I listed above aren't on Netflix, but that doesn't mean that they may not end up there at some time or other. Below are a couple of sites that should also assist you. (The review on "Riverdale" is spot on....stick with it...the characters may be out of the Archie comics that were around when we were kids...but the premise of the series is completely different to the light-hearted, harmless comics...and, it's not an animated series. It could very well grab your attention).

Thank you Lee. It seems that you and I are the only ones interested:-)
DeleteP.S., Lee I loved Mindhunters, Ozark and The Killing so you and I must be on the same page. LOL
DeleteOh! I'm a confessed binger, Annie. I've just finished bingeing on "Outlander" and am going through withdrawals as I impatiently await the next season to begin.
Delete"Justified" starring Timothy Olyphant, amongst others...is a fantastic series. I loved it so much when I finished watching the whole series I immediately began watching it all over again from go to whoa...and loved it just as much the second time around, if not more, than I did the first time. Great show...fast-moving; great characters...top production.
"Bloodline" is brilliant...a short series...only three seasons, and there will be no more...but it's worth watching.
I loved "Boardwalk Empire"...and after I finished with it, I went onto "Peaky Blinders" which is set in the same era...the Twenties...the time of Prohibition...but on the opposite side of the ocean. Very good series...and, again, with it, I'm impatiently waiting for the next season to hit our screens.
"Younger" isn't presently on Netflix (same with a couple of other series...but they could very well get snaffled up by Netflix at a later date). "Younger" is a fun, fast-moving series to watch. It sucked me in. The Executive Producer is the same Executive Producer who gave us "Sex and the City". The episodes only last about 25mins...but it's a good show. I loved it...the characters are terrific...it's fun, yet not stupid like some comedy-dramas can be. I think you would like it. I put a friend of mine here onto it...and she is now a fan, too. It's a good respite from the dramas and crime series when a respite is required.
I love series that have a continuous storyline...like "Justfied", "Outlander", "Boardwalk Empire" etc., have. They allow one to become invested in the characters and the storylines...rather than just the complete one hour episodes, if you know what I mean. They've even spoiled me re movies...movies are over and done with in 80 to 120 minutes! I wan't more! Particularly when the stories are terrific and the characters, the good guys and the bad guys have hold of your attention.
One can't help liking both the good guys and the bad guys in "Justified"! lol
Happy bingeing. You've got a friend in me!! :)
I don;t have Netflix, but Hear it has a lot of good things.
DeleteBy the way, Annie....I use three streaming services...Netflix, Stan and Foxtel Now.
DeleteI started watching Ray Donovan, my son told me it's good, but it's too 'dark' for me, too much violence and swearing. I could never keep up with the number of shows you watch.
DeleteI loved Ray Donovan....and I love bingeing on good/great series...with no interruptions from commercials.
DeleteThe language doesn't bother me...it's part and parcel. You'd not enjoy "Deadwood" then, River! So, I won't suggest that one to you. :)
Should I not admit that I loved DEADWOOD? LOL
DeleteI loved Deadwood, too, Annie.
DeleteI watched the whole series a few years ago...and I am watching it again now (although I've got it on hold presently because I'm pretty wrapped up in the Winter Olympics)...I'm streaming "Deadwood" via Stan. I think it's a hoot. I love Calamity Jane! Ian McShane is superb in it...and, of course, I think Timothy Olyphant is great. That was the first time I ever saw Olyphant. And then with him playing the lead in "Justified"...I became smitten all over again!! :)
I don't have netflix, do have amazon prime.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched TV for the last five years... so I'm no help.
You are "help" because you are an inspiration. You do so many more wonderful things than watching TV.
DeleteI don't have any recommendations for you, I don't know what's available on Netflix or Amazon or any other streaming device. As for watching shows all day, I planned something similar when I retired, but I seem to have less time to watch then ever. I'm forever standing at bus stops waiting for a bus to take me places or bring me home, then there's blogging, books, the cat, the housework. I'm not complaining, just realising that the DVDs will have to wait a few more years.
ReplyDeleteAll these shows might be the death of me. I must exercise more.
DeleteGrace and Frankie
ReplyDeleteDoc Martin
Murdoch's Mysteries
Longmiere
Love Doc Martin a lot and have watched it on PBS forever. Loved Longmire too. Will look for Murdoch's Mysteries. Everyone tells me to watch Grace and Frankie but out of loyalty to my husband and other VietNam vets I don't watch anything with Jane Fonda.
DeleteI'm a bit like you re Fonda, Annie.
DeleteI can't bring myself to watch "Grace and Frankie", even though I added it to my list above...and a friend of mine watches it....
Maybe one day...maybe not.
I think you are already a Longmire fan - I binged the final season.
ReplyDeleteOrange is the New Black (Netflix) is often shocking (it's prison), but every time the new season comes up, I binge watch it.
Stranger Things (Netflix) is scary, but the neighborhood scenes were/are filmed in my neighborhood in Tucker, Georgia, so of course I watch.
Amazon Prime - I LOVE Mozart in the Jungle.
I loved Longmier on TV and followed it to Netflix to final two seasons. Watched Stranger Things on Netflix and loved it. Watched the first season of Orange and laughed and laughed but wore myself out and haven't watched more of it. Will look for Mozart In The Jungle on Amazon. Thanks!
DeleteNot sure how much you're into crime dramas and the like, but if you're into Forrest Whitaker, "Ghost Dog and the Way Of The Samurai" is very good. Spike Lee's "25thHhour" is very good (uses the backdrop of 9/11). "Layer Care" featuring Daniel Crag and "Snatch" featuring Jason Statham and Brad Pitt.
ReplyDeleteI love Forrest Whtaker and Jason Statham is a favorite also. Will put your recommendations on my list.
DeleteWe rarely watch TV so I'm no help. Hope you're walking between shows!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what my doctor said to me yesterday:-(
DeleteToo easy to indulge! I am jealous! keep running out of movie time! "OutLander" is my daughter's favorite! I saw season 1 from a library dvd.
ReplyDeleteGood luck binge watching!
I'm loving "Mozart in the Jungle", Annie...it's streaming on Stan here. 25-30 minute episodes...similar to "Younger", a series I also loved.
ReplyDeleteIt's a quirky, unique series...and I love, love the music. Top production; good acting; great script.
Oh dear I'm not going to be much help. We don't pay for any telly services other than our licence fee to the BEEB so we don't get a lot of the American series. I am watching less & less telly now as I am sewing & knitting more plus I think the quality is declining. Even one of my favourites for the last few years Call the Midwife seems to be going downhill. I do like Endeavour, the young version of Inspector Morse & quite enjoy the lighthearted Death in Paradise, well you get distracted by the gorgeous scenery on location in Guadeloupe!
ReplyDeleteI can't find any comedy I like now, the new stuff either has too much bad language or it's just not funny to me. It reminds me of The Office which I detested. I got excited last night about a new series starring John Cleese & Alison Steadman who is always brilliant but I was really disappointed. Maybe it will improve as the series develops. Although maybe it's just me being more picky about what I watch. I find if I do watch telly I'm watching really old repeats like MASH, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Morecambe & Wise, The Two Ronnies & Last of the Summer Wine. I think I know all the scripts for Foyle's War now I've seen it so many times and I am still hoping for a new series of the marvellous Italian detective series Inspector Montalbano!
