BOLT is my fiber optics company. Finally they have installed it in my home after a 3 year wait. No more living my life around rationing my broadband usage with satellite provider. Previously satellite was the only option for rural users. Now my Rural Electric Company has made BOLT available to us and I am a happy camper. I can use my computer all day every day, plus I can now get Netflix on my television as well as Amazon, YouTube, etc.
Today I leave my house for a weekend siblings gathering and they may have to come here and drag me out because I don't want to leave my computer and my TV. (They actually threatened to do just that if I don't show up. LOL)
You are so lucky that your wonderful service is finally there! That's a long wait! I feel you about wanting to stay home this weekend and enjoy it. I would probably have tied myself to the house ... :-)
ReplyDeleteI shall go and close the internet and TV from my mind...Yes I will...
DeleteCongrats. You've always been a 'live wire' now you're a 'lightning Bolt'.
ReplyDeleteLove that Delores! Perfect. I shall share that with my family.
DeleteSo glad Bolt has entered your life
ReplyDeleteIf you have unlimited WiFi then you cannot begin to imagine what it is like to be without it. Usually I have to go to the restaurant or to my family's homes to download movies. This is going to be so great.
DeleteCongratulations Annie, I can almost hear you kicking and screaming as they drag you away for the weekend...
ReplyDeleteMaybe...Actually I shall go rejoicing to celebrate with my siblings. (I keep repeating that to myself. LOL)
DeleteGood for you. You deserve it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. So many in our area are still waiting so I am glad I got my deposit up early.
DeleteSo glad you have reached a state of ease and joining the modern world. I am not there yet.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend and let the kids spoil you.
We had DISH in Kansas and right after we moved they got fiber optics. Satellite was our only alternative again in Rural Oklahoma so we waited again. Now I finally, after 15 years, have unlimited WiFi, etc. Your day will come Patti.
DeleteWhere I grew up, "Bolt!" means : Run as fast as you can out of there"
ReplyDeleteHow Ironic! Glad you are satisfied with your internet now Yay! for you.
Better get out sometimes tho...
With my heart problems, I really need to be exercising instead of sitting in front of the TV. I will exercise soon...maybe..
DeleteNetflix is the best!
ReplyDeleteYes, I am loving being able to watch shows after 8AM. LOL
DeleteNetflix marathons are the best for self-medicating habits!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the oldest of 10. He has 5 sisters and 4 sister-in-laws. We girls are going to have a Sisters' Night in February which always includes foot rubs, hand massages and wine!
I am back from a wonderful and fun gathering. So glad we all got together. It is an annual event.
DeleteGosh I didn't realize you were on limited Wi-Fi. Glad you got it! Have fun with your sisters. sandie
ReplyDeleteSister, brother, sister-in-law and brother-in-law... Great fun!
DeleteAwesome! Slow internet is just not necessary in the 21st century. I still remember dial u and that squealing and the phone line being busy for hours!
ReplyDeleteOh yes Birdie, I remember that. AOL was my provider then.
DeleteI would LOVE to have fibre optics brought right to my house. Of course I would probably never leave my chair again, so maybe it's good I don't have it. Yet.
ReplyDeleteIt is finally coming to all of rural America so your day will come. I have talked to people in India who were amazed that I did not have unlimited Wifi. LOL
DeleteCongrats on finally joining the 21st and a 1/2 century with Duck Dodgers and company. :D
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I don't understand Duck Dodgers... Is that a sports term? Anyway maybe it was supposed to be Buck Rogers. I do know that space hero. LOL
DeleteThats good news!
ReplyDeleteYep, it surely is:-)
DeleteI know nothing about BOLT but now I must research it. We are going to get rid of cable and phone this spring, but we can't do without internet and for that we must rely on Comcast. (They are not very reliable...) Have a good time with your family.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that BOLT will be reliable. I am hearing that they don't have many, if any, problems. Back from family gathering and it was a lot of fun.
DeleteYahoo!! Technology, here you come!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous weekend.
Hi dear friend. I am back from our gathering and we had a joyous time. Only the boys won at the casino. I believe it was discrimination.
DeleteMy sister was going through the same thing at their rural property - she got Netflix streaming as a trial and couldn't even get it to load on the computer. It kept timing out. So glad you are all fixed up!
ReplyDeleteI always had to download my chosen Netflix shows between 2AM and 8AM then I could watch them later offline. Hope she will have fiber optics soon.
DeleteYay! That's wonderful news for you, Annie!
ReplyDeleteOh! Dear! Another one joins the bingeing brigade! Welcome, new binger!! Enjoy your Netflix! I do...as well as Stan and Foxtel Now!!! Love, love, love bingeing! :)
ReplyDeleteSpideres for sure! Not so much when they are inside, but the idea of them crawling on me when I am asleep. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Granan. Now you well and truly hooked.
