TIME REVISITED by Granny Annie
The beginning of the Vietnam War seemed arbitrary. Men and women selected for battles that made no sense to them. Suddenly, one day, the diminution took place and the United States abandoned the war.
Every President of the US had done what seemed plausible to each of them wanting to temporize their own immense greatness. Meanwhile, the military of both sides seemed doomed to Pandemonium.
The Press could only garble with false élan while many people in America were perfunctory and others could only bifurcate.
The images seemed vermicular as we watched the reenactments on television. We were definitely not left with anything that was toothsome.
Be sure and say "Thank you for your service" to a veteran today.
Clever.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, an excellent description of a disturbing time in our history.
ReplyDeleteGood job!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read Vietnam Vets often feel neglected.......so thanks to all of them........what a miserable time in the history of the world.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent use of your prompts. Thank you. It seems that the Vietnam veterans were treated badly everywhere. So very wrong.
ReplyDeleteWell done and timely with the current series. Those vets were treated so badly that only a few days ago did a friend I have known for 35 years admit to me that he had served.
