TIME REVISITED

Here is my story for the WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY post.  Since this is posting so late, I will add funnies tomorrow.  Go to Fools Rush In by Granny Annie to see the prompts for the final week in September that I have used here.

TIME REVISITED by Granny Annie

The beginning of the Vietnam War seemed arbitrary. Men and women selected for battles that made no sense to them. Suddenly, one day, the diminution took place and the United States abandoned the war.

Every President of the US had done what seemed plausible to each of them wanting to temporize their own immense greatness. Meanwhile, the military of both sides seemed doomed to Pandemonium.

The Press could only garble with false élan while many people in America were perfunctory and others could only bifurcate.

The images seemed vermicular as we watched the reenactments on television. We were definitely not left with anything that was toothsome.

Be sure and say "Thank you for your service" to a veteran today.

  1. Nicely done, an excellent description of a disturbing time in our history.

  2. From what I've read Vietnam Vets often feel neglected.......so thanks to all of them........what a miserable time in the history of the world.

  3. An excellent use of your prompts. Thank you. It seems that the Vietnam veterans were treated badly everywhere. So very wrong.

  4. Well done and timely with the current series. Those vets were treated so badly that only a few days ago did a friend I have known for 35 years admit to me that he had served.
