GLAD TO LIVE IN THE COUNTRY

Today this is what occurred in my small town.  My family always wants me to move away from the lake and into town.  Today I am glad to live in the country.  They are not calling a tornado, just high winds.  Uprooted some mighty big trees.  We had high wind out here, flooding, big thunder storms and lots of tree limbs down but no big damage.

  2. Yikes! That looks like some pretty major damage for a storm that isn't a tornado. We can't stop Mother Nature. Have you been in a real tornado?

  6. Wow, that's a heck of a wind storm. Hope no one was hurt, and glad that you are ok. Being in the Country I think is always better!

  7. Oh, dear! I'm glad you're okay, Annie. And I hope the status quo remains.

A broad area of Queensland down into northern New South Wales suffered at the devastating, callous hands of Cyclone Debbie a few weeks ago. It's heartbreaking to see the destruction caused by these weather systems. I don't know how people recover from such events...both mentally and physically/monetarily.

  8. Wow, that's a lot of damage. We get similar winds here in the winter. I worry about my daughter then as she lives on a property with a dozen tall pine trees on the slope at the back of the house.

  10. Oh those are awful storms. More this summer due to the crazy climate change. Denver got several inches of snow and the east coast hit the 90's which are both not normal weather. Glad you were spared any damage.

  11. There were some large trees pushed over there! Impressive what wind can do, and scary.

  12. Yikes, those were pretty staunch winds. Glad you and yours were spared. Nature lets us know on occasion just how powerful she can be. Be safe.

  14. Gotta love it when Mother Nature decides to redecorate on a whim. Glad to hear that you're safe and sound.
