NONE OF THE ABOVE

Question Of The Week, 5-30-16

Do you like partying?
Attending parties?
Giving parties?

How about "observing parties" from a great distance?

Blogger Elephant's Child said...
The fourth option for me. So long as the distance is great.

The most enjoyable thing I do at work is organizing "parties", meetings, events...etc. I do like hosting them.

I hate attending parties unless I'm the dj, because I get to hide behind the decks, play great music, watch people dance but I don't have to do boring small talk with anyone. :D

I don't mind boring small talk - or boring big talk - and I do enjoy parties. When I was younger, I didn't, because I had no self-confidence. I was embarrassed for myself - but not now that I have reached a certain age.

Thanks for the blog visit. And just why wouldn't you attend the events??? You'd meet nice people and have a good time, in spite of yourself.

Small parties, occasionally. I don't like giving them, I'm just not good at it.
Most of my family and friends are terrific party givers, and fantastic cooks. I missed that gene.

I like attending small parties. Hosting a party is rather stressful for me.

I DELETED THE SPAM COMMENT THAT G.B. REFERS TO NEXT SO DON'T THINK THAT KAY IS A SPAMMER:-)

Unlike the previous commenter, who posted spam, I do not like attending, participating or planning a party. I would rather observe from a great distance. Less heartache and disappointment. Last party I planned, people who said they would come, blew me off. Took me many, many months to get over it.

I kind of like hosting parties...but few and far between as I have gotten older with less stamina. Going to parties takes a lot of courage for me, unless the people there are very young friends of mine.

YOUNG LOVE

Yesterday the newly engaged couple, grandson Dillon and lovely Courtney, came and spent the day with this old granny. We had such a joyful and glorious day with lots of laughter and lots of exchanges of information. Courtney turns out to be a very good Wahoo player so everyone had better watch out. I am happy and thankful for this day and for this precious couple and the wonderful world ahead of them.

WFW ON THURSDAY

WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY on Thursday this week.  Words are selected from groups offered on Elephant Child's each week for us to write a story or a poem.  This is fun and everyone should give it a try.  Use your way with the words and post on her blog and on your blog if you want every Wednesday.  If you give it a try be sure and say so in your comments so we can read your work.

To close out May I decided to pick both groups of words offered again by Mark Koopmans:

Espionage
Charger
Sheep
U-Bend
Dent
Fluoride

TITLE: The Spy by Granny Annie

The theme was ESPIONAGE
And it grew even larger
When the spy's cell phone died
He was without battery or CHARGER.

More than a wolf in the
Clothing of a SHEEP
He was disguised as a plumber.
The chip hidden in a U-BEND deep.

The attempt to remove caused a DENT
While the CIA spy only cried.
This world saving chip
Had been destroyed by FLUORIDE.

Heisenberg
Ceiling
Orchard
Velcro
Plenitude
Squiggle

TITLE: Day Dreaming by Granny Annie

She rested in the ORCHARD
Staring at the sky for her CEILING
Wondering if the HEISENBERG model
Was statistically appealing.

Suddenly apples fell around her
As if their VELCRO failed to hold
They were in great PLENITUDE
And covered the nearby road.

Worms began to swarm out
As toward her they did SQUIGGLE
She jumped up to dance and stomp
And away she did wiggle.

I really have no idea, probably too much as I sell stuff on ebay too. I don't have a mobile phone though. I'm not on Facebook but Pinterest can be a bit addictive. But I get done what needs doing so I don't feel guilty and I never watch TV at all.

I spend about an hour reading and writing blogs, about 20 minutes off and on with FB and another 20 minutes on emails. If I count Netflix watching that is another 3-4 hours a week.

I have the TV on all the time, but it's mostly for the background noise that I've been addicted to since my very first portable 19" black & white Sylvania I got when I was a child. I have a Facebook and Twitter account, but I'm hardly ever there. The computer fills up about 2-3 hours a day, but that includes reading the news, blogging and email.

I'm connected to the internet 24/7...that doesn't mean I'm actively on it all of the time, but I do spend a lot of time on writing, researching, reading, etc....so I'm actively on the net for quite a number of hours daily. I'm lost without it. :)

It's hard to say - probably too much. :) I am connected at work, but also look at my iPhone a lot there and at home. It drives me a little crazy when I have either of my sisters in the car while I'm driving and they have their faces glued to their phones.
