I am in my home office and this is where I draw with markers and paint so there are many shades of purple that surround me. One of the eggs I have painted stands out as being the most prominent purple item nearby.
A card my son made for me in Kindergarten for Mother's Day, which has a cut-out of a purple butterfly at the end of a rainbow along with flowers and a beautiful sun. His photo is in the center of the card and it's just adorable.
I have a game box called Braniac that I bought for my grandson years ago and which I now use as a weight for a fabric for a background. It as a plastic cover in the shape of a brain which is purple. I did have to look hard and long for something within my eye.
Well, I really had to look for this one, Annie. And you know I love to "see." I'm sitting at the kitchen counter and finally I spied a purple plastic spatula that I have in a pitcher beside the stove along with several other cooking utensils. I'm afraid I'm not a purple person. However, if my Granddaughters were here, I could have found purple immediately.
I also am in my office and almost despaired until I found a tiny book on a shelf above my head. 'Quotable Women' Example- "Tact is after all a kind of mind reading." Sarah Orne Jewett 1849-1909
Considering that I LIKE the color purple, this took some looking. There is a Sanford paper clip packet in my desk drawer that has a purple label. Note-to-self: Buy some irises at the store today and put them in this room.
I didn't have to look far. To the right of my computer is a cartoon a friend of mine made of my former dog Mighty. The background is various shades of purple.
Some threads in a throw-over cover are a shade of purple as are some wooden beads in a multi-coloured necklaces hanging on a peg amongst many other multi and single-coloured beads.
Oh...and I just noticed a still- life painting of flowers in two vases that I painted a few years ago, and which is hanging on the wall here in front of me where I sit at my computer has a couple of purple flowers in it. And right beside me on my desk, next to my keyboard is a heavy glass bird-shaped paperweight, and I've just noticed it has lavender flowers somehow incorporated in it with a little grey bird perched on the branch of the lavender flowering bush (if that makes sense).
TO ALL: How was it to take a look around and be a little more aware of your environment while you are on your computer? I enjoyed seeing what you see. For those who didn't have any purple, go get some:-)
There are 3 purple, new, empty, plastic letter-size bins from the dollar tree 3 feet from my chair. The decoratiopn on my TV 4 feet away shown in the resent post "Social Media Amok" has 2 shades of purple. In the kitchen a few more feet away has purple hand towels n pot holders, alsoo courtesy of the dollar tree, where so much here comes from these days/ Oh yeah, I also bought 3 shades of their purple hangers. I have some t-shirts n pjs also. n the coat I've been using. Yep, I love especially blu-purple. N there are SO MANY SHADES!

ReplyDeleteMy Dupatta (An Indian shawl) hanging in my closet. Purple is my husband's favorite colour. He says that it is soothing to his eyes.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing purple that is downstairs where I am right now is the downstairs bathroom. The walls are done in purple Venetian Plaster.
