NANCY, forgive my failure to respond to your nice comments about the party. I have really gotten behind. We took up a collection for your ticket to Paris and I'm glad you had a good time and that you made it home safe and sound.LOL
I'll bet you would think I love parties, but I don't really - I guess because I used to go to so many when I was younger. I do dinner parties at my place - I like that and that's the kind of party I like, small gatherings with friends or family.
I have a pool so I must host parties. I'd rather have parties at my house now, but in my youth, we used to go all over the place for parties, but I wouldn't classify myself as a party animal even back then.
Now, I'm more of a homebody who likes having family and friends over to my place.
I avoid them when at all possible. And if it isn't possible tend to arrive early (before the crowds) and leave early as well. Except sales parties which I avoid like the plague.
Younger me was a party animal. Loved to attend preferable to being hostess. Tuesday use to be a good enough excuse. Still kind of enjoy them though don't get invited like I use to. My friends have reached the avoiding of parties stage thus limiting my options.
CHATTY CRONE, you are a wild and crazy party animal and you just can't get home in the evening early enough to suit the rest of your family cuz you're out carousing....NOT!
Hello Annie Just popped in to say a quick hello - loved parties in my younger days, not so comfortable now. Even if family are at our house you'll find me pottering in the kitchen or even in the garden away from the crowd. Cathy
Great thought question, we all know the answer too.
When I was young, I was all thru the teen years. I got burnt out on booze before I was 21, n slowed way down.
Then occasionally thru child rearing years I went to bars n did music gigs.
Now I'm too pooped to pop except at the occasional wedding or family gatherings. That hasn't happened in years now! But At least I don't need to be wasted to have fun-
SNAGGLE TOOTH, when I thought I was a party animal in college and drank too much, what I thought was fun turned out I disastrous because I never could remember what had happened.
I'm with most of your other readers: I go to small parties with friends and family. Nothing loud, nothing crazy. Once per year I'm required to show up at my work Christmas party, where there is a DJ and a lot of drinking, but I usually leave pretty early into the evening, after I've done my share of dancing with the gang.
I don't think I would ever have described myself as a party animal. Family parties are my favorite these days.

DeleteI make it a point to avoid the majority of the parties that I have an option of going to, and I don't throw parties.
