Cliff -- Bought at WalMart. Uniden is the maker. Two cameras and the monitor plus the SD and extra cables for hooking to your laptop plus instructions for adding to your Smartphone which I don't have. $199. It is equipped to handle four cameras and now I'm going back to get those other two for the back of the property. The system is wireless but the cameras do need to be plugged in to elec. outlets. Cord provided is pretty long. If I see them coming I will have time to lock and load:)

Sonny -- That is what I thought. I hope the system will last. It is supposed to be weather proof though it does suggest the cameras go under eaves or other protected area.

ReplyDeleteLynn -- There is a better catch on the wasp but it's right at the beginning of the clip and if you blink you miss it. It looks like Godzilla Wasp.

Olga -- It has just been up a day but it is giving me peace some of mind. My dog Slim is still my first line of defense.
That's very good sound and picture...sorry to hear about the rash of break ins though. I'm the worst with security...I need to get better.
ReplyDeleteBrown English Muffin -- I never felt the need when Ron was next to me. Now I'm not all that afraid but just need some better sense of security. Plus Slim is a good watchdog but I would hate for her to get hurt protecting me.

ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful! Thank you for sharing.I live alone and I think I need those as well. I never thought it would be that inexpensive. I have 3 dogs so they alert me to any action around the outside of the house plus I have chain link fence all the way around my house and I keep locks on the gates. Anybody coming to see me either has a gate key or knows to call me first. LOL! My dogs are funny though. One is afraid of the dark so she won't go outside after dark unless the motion detecter porch light comes on first. The second dog will go out in the dark, but the 3rd dog just moans and groans if a noise happens after his bedtime, unless he deems it is something serious. He lets me know his shift is over!

Make sure you post a "under camera surveilence" sign to slow them down more!

ReplyDeletekenju – We have so many wasps that I am starting to believe they live in my walls much like the bees you found living in you walls a few years ago.
Aunt Betsy – A family down the road from us took down their fence and I'm not sure why. Anyway, they were robbed last week of all their four-wheelers and most of their tools. One of my best crime deterrents are two big lights in my yard paid for by the electric company. I have no idea why I got them but they sure put any intruders in the spotlight.
Snaggle Tooth – I am afraid to post sign warning about the cameras because I fear that would only tempt them to steal the cameras too. However if they did, I would have a clear picture of them doing so. lol
The wasps are awesome, but kinda camera shy. They were like "Yikes! It's a camera, I'm outta here!"

ReplyDeleteThis is just what we need in our house in AZ. More to prove that gardeners etc. actually do come work when we aren't around. I assume it only works if you are there though?
