Our youngest granddaughter Hope enjoys watching TV curled up with Slim in grandpa's chair. |
Until she stumbles across her first episode of COPS |
Grandchildren tornado hits my sister's house. |
For the next two weeks she has all eight of her grands under the age of nine. |
Thankfully she has a pool to help keep them entertained. |
And then there is always this precious moment:) |
Looks like fun times are ahead for your sister. I've been with Ella all this week before her school starts.
ReplyDeleteOne of the joys of life I'm looking forward to - being a Grandma. Wow - your sister will be needing a vacation after the grandchildren return home. :)
ReplyDeleteHope's expression when she sees COPS is perfect, Annie. What a lovely sweet dog Slim is.
This is a "grand" set of pics, Annie, but the one of the little girls sleeping is priceless.

ReplyDeleteI have to admit I like kids the most during their " precious moments" time :):)
now Slim, could sit with me all day and night..
your poor Sister. I hope she gets a special treat when they all go home.
big southern hugs to ya .
Always nice to have them visit and nice to see them go home too. Grands are wonderful, but they sure have a way of wearing me out.
ReplyDeleteThat last shot is what makes it all worthwhile isn't it? Great set of photos full of life and love.
ReplyDeleteLove'n that last picture. I have 7 grands, but was never brave enough to have all of them visit at one time. Hats off to your sis!
ReplyDeleteHope the visit is lots of fun for all...
ReplyDeleteYour sister's place: oh my gosh! She's a brave soul. I'm exhausted just looking at the pics.
ReplyDeleteBeverly -- Ella is a joy. One grandchild is always easier than eight.
ReplyDeleteTalon -- I'm afraid the episode of COPS revealed the women they arrested were cross-dressers. Yikes! I had the same expression. You best start preparing yourself early for grandchildren.
Jeanie -- I wish I could take credit for capturing that last photo but their mother actually caught it.
Sonny -- Slim will cuddle with me during the day and I though she was going to sleep with me at night but she gave up after a couple of nights. She will nap with me on the bed but I believe she is expecting Ron to return.
Rae -- Our 8 grandchildren are ages 11 years to 23 years. My sisters are ages 5 months to 9 years. I thanked my children for having their children while I was younger.
LL Cool Joe -- Yep, that's what it all about, life and love.
Brighid --We had seven visit at once and all eight visit a couple of times and it was always great. Our bunch is very dramatic. Only five got together when they were toddlers.
Changes in the wind -- The visit at my sisters is over and the clean is almost over and almost everything is glued back together. lol
Kerry -- My sister and bil have a large home and remember that messy room was just a sample of all their rooms. I love it that everyone can just let their hair down and enjoy family and say to heck with the clutter. All eight children left with a lifetime of memories. Oh and so did the parents. The six had their own places to be and business trips and excursions with friends but got to put their feet under mom's table too and feel the love.
ALL EIGHT?? Same family?? Please tell me she has some adult help!! They are precious, though.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to comment on your new photo. I like it very much. You seem to be moving to a place of peace.
ReplyDeleteCute pics!!! They are lucky to have you in their lives.
ReplyDeleteTabor -- My sister AND her husband were there plus I was there to help one day. (She only had three that day.) She did have a teenage girl hired to act as a lifeguard and many friends looking in on them A LOT. Plus the parents were there some too.
ReplyDeleteRiot Kitty -- The little kiddos are lucky to have my sister in their lives. They do like their Auntie Annie a bit too.
BTW I love the phrase "grandchildren tornado!"
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! I can't wait to see my only grandchild so far away. You are so lucky.
ReplyDeleteThat last photograph is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy.
I love my grandkids, too. These are such beautiful photos!
ReplyDeletethat would make my week a fun week. God Bless them.
ReplyDeleteThe pics are so sweet, especially the one when the girls are sleeping. Awww.
ReplyDeleteSomething I'm looking forward to myself... being a grandmother. I'm not rushing my girls, just when they'e ready.
Wow - good luck to her with all those kidlets!!! sandie
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful tornado of children! Love that last pic, too. That's deep sleeping there.
ReplyDeleteEight children under nine? My heavens, she's going to need a vacation after that mob clears out. It must be a wonderful chaos over there.
ReplyDeleteWonder how long until she steals my line from when I watch Grand Kids. "Where....is your mother??"
ReplyDeleteWow! So Brave your Sis is! But the memories will be worth it- Perhaps she'll get the kids to pick up a little of it is she bribes them with cookies...
ReplyDeleteMine were fun this week too- but can't get pics in yet. Lucky you- good stuff!
Riot Kitty – Yes a tornado for sure and the restful picture at the end is just the storm storing up energy for the next round.
ReplyDeleteKay – It must be terrible to have your grandchild so far away. I know you and Art are happy for Skype.
Pat – The last picture is indeed a keeper.
gigihawaii – Grandkids are one real good reason to have children.
Munir – They do bring a lot of fun when the come and leave a lot of tiredness when they go.
cube – My sister is my older sister and she watched both me and my brother have our grandchildren and they grew and grew and she decided she would never have grandkids, then boom! Suddenly she had eight. Tell your girls when they do get started it will be nice if they take some time between kids. lol
Chatty Crone – She and her husband both survived.
Lynn – Those three little pixies were definitely pooped.
Sparkling Red – It is over and when I finally saw my sister on Monday she was not the energetic person I once knew. She was definitely one tired cookie. Poor baby.
Cliff – I think what my sister was saying was, “Where is you grandfather?” Somehow he managed to find a lot of time when the dog needed to go outside. However he was there when the 7 year old grandson hit a golf ball through the window and reported in through heavy sobbing. Grandpa was able to softly say, “That's okay buddy, accidents happen”.
Snaggle Tooth – Ohhhhhhhhh can't wait to see some pics of your grands. My sister's best bribery method is to threaten no swimming until pick up is done. They will do anything to get back in the pool. Thankfully they didn't have all the rain we had here so the kids could swim a lot and she had hired a teenager to lifeguard for them.
Eight? Oh, my goodness, I can't imagine that many from my two girls, but hey, one can hope, right?
ReplyDeleteHow does someone take care of 8 children under 8 at once? That sounds incredible. I love the photo of Hope & Slim in grandpa's chair. How sweet and comfy.
