This is post # 3 in the marathon.
Polly had
twins!!! Born on Ash Wednesday, they are named Ashley and Ashenhurst.
Of couse I don't know yet if they are girls, boys or one of each. Sorry for the graphic photo, but you can see they had only been born a short time before the picture was taken. Our Billy goat, Tandy Kid, may be gone but definitely not forgotten. We had hoped he had done his job well before leaving. We're not sure but Elizabeth and Tina might be pregnant also. We're watching closely.
Cute! Love those names - perfect.
ReplyDeleteLooks like spring has reached your area!
ReplyDeleteI think this is quite fun and what a great shot of these two newbies....
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable. Love the names you choose. My aunt in wilmington nc raised goats and I loved visiting there. She had a slide set up and they'd climb it and slide down.. what a hoot they were..

Apparently Tandy Kid had a way with the girls.
ReplyDeleteLynn -- My son came up with that so I have to give him credit. Ashenhurst is actually a family name.
ReplyDeleteTabor -- Definitely the arrival of baby goats announces Spring. Also on our adventure the other day we saw daffodils already blooming. But in Oklahoma that really doesn't mean anything. We could have snow tomorrow. I agreed with your post today but I can't go into detail because I have given up "politics" for Lent. I will only say that I see science as a vital gift from God.
Changes in the wind -- You should see then today. They are both cleaned up and mommy has accepted both of them. Last year she neglected one of her twins and it died. I do think though that she knew it was not a strong kid and might not have survived anyway.
Sonny -- They are cuties aren't they? The other goats are giving mommy and kids a wide berth and seem to know they need to be careful. So glad we got rid of our billy because he treated last year's kid terrible and I believe he killed Chocolate Chip. How did the Poms turn out after their clip and what bows did you go with?
Cliff -- Yes and we were glad. We now have our desired number of goats and my son has learned how to band the boys if they turn out to be male. Our two wethered goats from last year are delightful pets.
ReplyDeleteI saw the birth announcement in the Oklahoma City Newspaper society column yesterday.
ReplyDeleteMr & Mrs. Tandy and Polly Kid
announce the birth of twins whom they have named:
Ashley and Ashenhurst Kid.
Mr and Mrs Kid are also the parents of the late Chocolate Chip.
Congratulations to the happy family.
Nancy, you should have said the estranged Tandy Kid and Polly Kid of the home.... If you will remember Tandy Kid was sent away last year shortly after impregnating Polly and maybe Elizabeth and Tina. LOL He is also the father of Dr. Cole and Lord Voldermort. You are such a hoot and a half!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the funniest thing, Annie, but I DID have the estranged in there and took it out because I thought it was too much.
ReplyDeleteBTW,It's great that Elizabeth and Tina are expecting. You can name their kids Burton and Turner...
Ouch on the bands.
ReplyDeleteWe also have the desired number of goats.
Those are so cute!!
