TIME'S UP

I believe my blog reading and commenting is caught up. I have enjoyed these past few days at home and one of the joyful spots has been finding out what other bloggers are up to these days. Tomorrow it will slow again as Ron begins his second round of treatments. With 22 treatments already under our belts, we are looking at another 13 radiation treatments and we're not sure about how many more chemo treatments he will need because they are changing his type of chemo. At least his strength seems to have improved since his release from the hospital and we are filled with hope again.

We live very close to Joplin, MO and we are thankful that we have not had to travel in this weather. I did have one harrowing drive to Tulsa in 60 mph winds and rain and hope I won't have that again. However our weather in these parts continues to be horrible and Joplin is trying to clean up and restore under more and more rain. How sad to have this insult added to their mass injuries. Right this moment our friends and family members in the Oklahoma City area are all in cellars taking cover for the newest round of tornado warnings.

My goats are doing well despite the weather. Dixie delivered her kid this evening. It is another cutie and mother and child seem to be doing well. We are still looking for one more baby goat.

My mama cats are taking good care of their kittens. I showed you Boomer's kittens but am not sure if I mentioned David has a new kitten too. David's kitten is going to have to be named Mini-me because it looks identical to David. Exact same markings and all.

Mr. Gibson is on a nest again and hopeful for a bunch of chicks. She is as devoted and determined as her mother Elenore was.

Slim has been enjoying lots of rest in the house these few days and will be shocked to learn she is back on duty tomorrow as we begin our daily jaunts to Tulsa. She should be well rested to begin her protective vigil over NOL-NOC Estates.

Here is what was happening on the lake we live on when the tornadoes were ripping through Joplin, MO on May 22, 2011. Ron and I were napping through the whole thing. We knew nothing until our daughter in San Diego and my sister in Chicago called to tell us.
Not a very good picture, but this is Dixie with her baby resting in front of her, and Cole, (Polly's baby) nursing off Dixie. You think Cole might be a little greedy?

  1. Seems like you have caught up and that you have gone though your check list.

I'm not sure what kind of cancer your husband has - but I hope after all that - he will be healed.

  2. I literally just e-mailed you because between the tornadoes and thunderstorms, I was really hoping you had missed out on both!

  3. Slim does look relaxed! Bet she'll be stumped when the trips begin anew- Congrats on all the new additions n potential additions! Hope Gibson has good luck building up your flock this year.

I've been thinking of you n praying for you all during all the turbulant weather there. New storms today also- enough already! Must stink to hole-up in a storm cellar all day, but at least a safe alternative to not having one.
Best of driving luck for the next 12! (Knocking on wooden mouse board)

  5. So happy that you guys are ok, and that doesn't make any sense that you didn't know about it until someone else called you!!! What happened to sirens and such??? :(

I'm glad you had some time to recoup before having to begin this next round of travel and treatments.
The tornadoes have been so horrible. I hope the weather improves where you are so your daily drives are less stressful. Your medicine staging area pictured below shows quite a stash. Ron has the best home nurse ever!! Nurse Ratched, my rear end!!!
If you are like her, then do you have party hat boobs like hers? Her pointy boobs are the funniest things. They are lethal weapons.

  8. That dog picture reminds me of myself rubbing my back from a sunburn. The T-Storm spout reminds me of those poor folks in Joplin, MO. Very sad! ~ j///b

My sister from Tulsa is on her way up here as I write this. They are always enjoyable when they visit.
