Happy New Year

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

This is my blog post until after the holidays. This turkey coloring page would be nice for you to print and put in front of the guests to color. Adults would probably enjoy coloring it as much as the children.
A few of you will drop by my blog before your festivities begin and some will be here Thanksgiving Day or after. Regardless of when you arrive, take a minute to tell us what you plan to do or what you have already done. It would be nice for you to share your Thanksgiving Day menu as well as tell us what you usually do with leftover turkey.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

  1. We will celebrate with the normal feast and trimmings but one thing we are looking forward to most is the Reuben sandwiches with Aunt Elaine's special sauce. Our adult son will join us and is actually bringing the turkey. We should all get our fill with no grandchildren around to compete with each boarding house reach:)

  2. Menu very traditional turkey, homemade stuffing and dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, garlic mashed and spinach salad. Guests bringing pies. Lots of apps for the guys while they watch the game. Printing your turkey for the grandkids to keep them busy when they arrive today.

  3. I want to go color that picture! We are having one of the volunteers from my office over for dinner tomorrow - I am cooking and Mr. RK is helping and cleaning up. (He always cleans up when I cook, and vice versa.) She is an older lady with no family in the area and I didn't want her to spend the day alone. She also has a wicked sense of humor, so she'll be good company. Happy Thanksgiving! And my word verification is "ronsly," so I hope you and Ronsly have a good turkey day ;)

  5. Annie,

Canadian Thanksgiving is celebrated in October. This year it was on my birthday. We went to Mom's for dinner, had turkey and all the trimmings and pie and cheesecake for dessert. Wish I could celebrate with you. Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday after Christmas.

    Happy Thanksgiving, my friend.
    Blessings,
    Mary

  11. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I hope your enjoying some wonderful leftovers.

I think I am caught up! I also have a windtunnel by hoover. LOVE IT!! The only drawback is the noise, but worth it for the cleaning power.

  12. I went to my nephew's and we had so much; turkey, rolls, regular dressing and oyster dressing, potato casserole, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, gravy, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, green beans, corn, dumplings, and there was too many desserts to mention! Needless to say, I ate way too much!!

But looking back, we didn't have any sweet potato dishes!

  14. Granny Annie -- And yes we had green bean casserole too

Tabor -- Hope the coloring page helped with the little ones:)

Riot Kitty -- Yes, Ronsly and I had a great day. Love his new name -- just now sure how much he likes it. LOL I am so happy you included a friend in your festivities who would have been alone otherwise.

Old Lady Of The Hills -- I love it when you stop by my blog. I'm not real sure the menu you described would please your doctor????

Mary -- Yes Mary I remember when you posted about Canadian Thanksgiving. Do you have green bean casserole too?

Oh Great One -- I can't wait to hear how your turducken went. Did you buy them already together or did you have to stuff one bird with another? "Mother and father in-loves" -- that is so great.

Kay Dennison -- Kay, I was pleased to read of your spending Thanksgiving helping others. What else would we expect!

Welcome To My World Of Poetry -- Of course you don't Yvonne! LOL Thanks for your gracious wishes to us.

Changes In The Wind -- Thanks for your wishes. Hope yours was amazing

Lil Red -- Never heard of white rice as a traditional Thanksgiving dish but as much as I love rice, I'm willing to add it. Hey, I was serious about Eva. Any chance you would consider selling her? Not that I could afford her, but maybe I could.

ACE -- Leftovers, the true delicacies of Thanksgiving! The main reason I hate to go to someone else's home is because we don't get leftovers.

Rachel -- You know Rachel it just dawned on me that we didn't have any sweet potatoes either!

Thanks for your comment. It was fun to peek in on your celebrations!
