Our Thanksgiving celebration will be held this year at my home. Everyone has an assignment and will bring the food. All but three of the grandchildren will be able to attend. One will be working so his girlfriend won't come, one is now living with granddaughter-in-law in New York, and One is flying to Louisiana to be with her boyfriend.
I have worked to get the house ready. My housekeeper cannot come next week because she is celebrating with her own family. There is no doubt that a domestic person does not live in me. My sister, who is also getting ready for her family, told me to forget it because everyone will be so busy eating the won't notice if my house is clean or not. Good idea. A call was immediately put in to my friend Frank and a decision was made for both of us. Let's forget work and take the day off.
We went to town. Did a little shopping. Had a wonderful meal at a new Mexican restaurant. Then we spent 2 and 1/2 hours in the theater watching GLADIATOR 2.
Good for you -- wise choice!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving soon!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like an excellent decision. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! As a housekeeper/janitor/maid, I do take Thanksgiving Day off, but I work to get every house clean before then so I can do it with my mind at ease.
ReplyDeleteI clean the most obvious areas like kitchen and bathroom and close the doors everywhere else.
