FAMILY VACATION by Granny Annie
Up-A-ways-Inn here we come. Our cabin was situated on a simple sward in Green Mountain Falls. We would not even CONSIDER missing our annual family vacation to Colorado. Our daughter was reluctant to go this year. She was a Senior in high school and was graduating SECOND in her class. She said it was her INSTINCT to stay home this year and work on her speech. Of course that would not be needed until May and we believed there was more to her anxiety.
Misty had a boyfriend this year. He occupied most of her time. It was nice to be out of town and away from all the children's friends. It turned out to be a wonderful vacation. Our son and daughter relinquished all their anxieties and enjoyed the local teen club, mountain climbing, hikes and horseback riding.
The evening we returned to our home found us exhausted. Misty awoke and rubbed her eyes which caused phosphenes to form. She blinked and had a burst of energy. She rushed into the house like a FLASH. She went to the SINK, splashed her FACE and headed toward town where we had seen her boyfriend's car parked. She noticed movement in the car and when she tapped on the mouse grey tinted glass two persons reared their heads. He was with her best friend Janice.
There was no way to stop the plotting that began in Misty's mind. My daughter always said she doesn't get mad, she gets even.
This week the prompts are provided by messymimi's meanderings:
consider
second
sink
instinct
face
flash
and/or the following random sentence
My daughter always said she doesn't get mad, she gets even.
Charlotte/Mother Owl has also chosen Mouse Grey as the color of the month, which you may use as a prompt if you wish.
I would love to hear just how Misty gets even. Great use of the prompts.
