I was 11 when my parents let my 16 year old brother driver us over Royal Gorge Bridge. It terrified me of bridges and of heights and not until I married Ron did I get over these phobias. He helped me overcome them.
My friend just died after spending six months with a stroke where he could think, but couldn't talk or eat or walk or anything. I think that would have to be so scary and sad.
I don't want my brain to die before my body... Aside from that, I discovered a definite case of claustrophobia a few years back. I can only conclude that something brought it on.
