  1. Long enough ago that I don't recall if I've ever climbed a tree! I did (try to) climb a chain link fence as a child. I still have the inch-long scar from the stitches to prove it. ;)

  2. I was probably about 9 or 10. I climbed so high I could see nearly to the top of a high rise in a community 15 minutes away. I scared myself ans never climbed a tree again.

  4. Not too sure I ever did. I have always had a fear of heights, a three step ladder will do it.

  5. It was not that long ago, maybe when I was in my 60's, but I only went up the lowest branches for a photo.

  6. Too long ago.
As a child I spent a LOT of time in a tree with a book.

  8. Would have had to have been Richmond, VT, maybe in the early 60's. I used to love to climb trees.

  9. Decades ago. When I was still a girl, I believe, and tree houses were fun.

  10. I can't remember the last time I climbed a tree. Possibly 1980 when I climbed up to cut my daughter's hair from where it got tangled, but there might have been a more recent climbing. Definitely no climbing since at least 2000.

  11. It was sometime after 1968 when we moved to Florida. No trees to climb in Manhattan. We had a great oak in our back yard and it was big enough for apartments. My next door neighbor had a pesky little brother so we told him his bottom level "apartment" was waaaay better than our upper level place. The poor little thing fell for it.

  12. Oh! Boy! Ages ago....probably back around 1998/99...and then I didn't get carried away and go very high up. I was trying to get out of reach mangoes off the tree in the yard of the place I then lived in, in Gympie...prior to moving here to where I live now.

    I've since retired from tree-climbing!

  13. I was a girl scout for 10 years of camping trips n used to always climb trees. They could never find me up there! One time I was almost at the top of an oak tree when the branch broke, n I fell about 30 feet, managing to grasp two branches near the ground. Very close call, I slowed it down after that. About 16 years old I think.

A teen friend used to steal his father's cigars n climb the spruce tree to hide. Sometimes you could see the smoke coming from the top of the large tree. Hilarious!

I grew up with a huge Copper Beech tree in the back, n always climbed it. Made a rope ladder n Hammock up there. My brother's large initials are still way up there, carved into that tree.
