SECLUSION

SIX SENTENCES FOR THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2018

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Explain.

SECLUSION

He was a bit of a recluse which made Philip's life difficult to explain.

Why did he decide to accept a lecture circuit to tell strangers why his hermit life was valuable?

His longtime friend Graham had driven him to this auditorium and would accompany Philip to the other locations for his speech.

Philip looked around the packed hall with a grimace knowing this would not be a highlight of his secluded life.

He looked at Graham whom he had promised to tell the world why he had disappeared after his invention won him fame and fortune.

Philip spoke to the crowd, “I don't like people.”

  5. I really enjoyed your 6.
A sacrifice on Phillip's part to honor his promise to his friend. Phillip and Graham clearly have a very dear friendship, you can see the reciprocity.

  8. I laughed at that succinct explanation. It makes for a short lecture. I doubt he gets asked back.

  9. When you hear of the horror stories of cruelty and hatred these days, it takes work and stories like the rescue of the soccer 13 to keep from becoming like Phillip.

I'm okay with people one on one, but as a species, we're just plain awful.
