  1. Yawp! Yawp! Yawp! is precisely what I said last week and this when faced with the onerous selection of words the evil Annie saw fit to use in the Words for Wednesday meme. Hearing the cries of pain, Jazz bolted and is currently holed up in the wardrobe.

What can I do? I can stand and moan with my arms akimbo and the tare weight of my brain set to nil or I can take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them all (with apologies to Shakespeare).

I choose the second. The players in this meme are steadfast and will not be dissuaded. No savants, but stubborn individuals with access to a dictionary (and wine).

As I put these final words down I can say with pride 'It is all copacetic. The Gruesome Granny wouldn't have set these challenges just to wreak havoc on our poor tired brains. It isn't haphazard nastiness. She has faith in us - and that faith was vindicated last week, as it will be this.

However, I do feel the need to advise the torturer that her time will come. Soon.'

  2. Well done EC! Gold stars for you.
I'll have to do a thorough search and see if I can locate my brain. It could be rolling around with the giant dust bunnies under the bed.

  3. Aha! Evil Annie has struck again!!

"And the readers of Evil Annie’s Wednesday Words simultaneously let out a loud YAWP when they read this week’s HAPHAZARD suggestions!

Once again one has to be a bloody SAVANT to be able utilise them in some semblance of a sensible tale.

I sit here arms AKIMBO...which, I might add...makes typing very difficult. But if Annie wants to WREAK havoc on my poor addled brain, I refuse to wave a white flag.

However, I shall remain STEADFAST in my resolve to not allow the ONEROUS words defeat me!

If Annie chooses to test our stress levels and patience, I ADVISE the way to VINDICATE our feelings of frustration; to discover, then dislodge the TARE weight burdening our brains is to for us to treat this as a game, an interesting, fun game - one from which we can learn much. And, very soon we will find everything has fallen into place, and has become COPACETIC enough to make sense.

You see, language, according to memetics, is a MEME...and as language is made up of words we shall not be defeated!
    Onwards...upwards...and forward...dear friends!"

    1. Wait a minute...wait a minute! It's not Evil Annie it is Evil Merriam-Webster. I worked hard to save their "Word Of The Day" in preparation for this challenge. I think you, Lee, and EC were looking over each other's shoulder. Regardless, another good job:-) Hope everyone has as much fun with the words.

  7. Disclaimer

    Non grammatically correct zone

ampihibology....a phrase or sentence that is grammatically ambiguous.

My good friend Delores posted this word and definition on her blog a few days ago, I commented that it sounded like a description of mine, and I then decided to use it in a disclaimer to vindicate the grammar mistakes that I frequently make, but instead I am using it in this week's WFW meme because I feel that posting a disclaimer on my blog is really not needed.

Jimmy's Opinion is a grammatically ambiguous blog, punctuation mistakes and overuse of commas are to be expected, and may be noticed by everyone but myself. I am no savant but if something I write sounds normal it should be copacetic in spite of any grammatical mistakes everyone else sees.

Writing for me has never been an onerous task, I really enjoy writing stories and in spite of wreaking havoc on the English language with my haphazard use of commas and such, I feel that what I write is understandable.

Like most of us I write the way I talk, with the tare of my brain at zero I can plunge headlong into the steadfast task of telling you about my life and hoping to bring a smile to your face at the same time, without worry of being one hundred percent grammatically correct.

Any flub ups in the grammar department should be overlooked because even if you corrected me I am likely not to remember your well intended advise next time I sit down to write anyway.

With a yawp of excitement I see that I have nearly come to the end of this attempt at having a little fun at my own expense, while using Granny Annie's words at the same time, with my arms akimbo I believe that my job is done.

    2. Love it Jimmy, and my poor tired brain woke up this morning thinking I had left out ampihibology. Thank you for reminding me that it was the evil Annie Miriam Granny who put it into my head.

    3. Good on you, Jimmy!

From now to the end of September I can see my Wednesday nights (when the magic Words appear Down Under) will be restless. Having to kick-start my mind into gear around 9.30-10 pm is like giving it a triple dose of caffeine - it doesn't want to calm down again for hours! lol

I'm sure EC is going through similar!! :)
