WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY

It's that time again.  Go to Elephant Child's blog today and get the WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY  offered by Margaret Adamson and her friend Sue Fulton.  We will find these words at EC's all month though they are provided by others.  Some of us put our creation in comments on this post or Elephant Child's,  and others post on their own blog.  It is fun when as many people as possible join in this fun meme. Here is my contribution for this week using all 12 words.

THE NOTE by Granny Annie

She felt feverish and sweat poured off her brow. The man held a gun and she held a pencil. A letter was to be fabricated. It was supposed to sound sensible. He read the draft, approved it and led her to the typewriter. “Type this word for word” he demanded, “and don't try to mix it up”.

She attempted to caution the man and explain the penalty for kidnapping. Her family knew she had not yet reached senility so they would recognize this note as a desperate plea.

The man awaited the money drop. His promise had been a lie. Before her husband and children patched together the ransom, the mother's body was already resting in a shallow grave, surrounded by forest trees.
