Thank you Elephant's Child for the
words again this week. Don't ask me why my use of the Words For
Wednesday always go in such a strange direction. Perhaps I watch too
many murder mysteries on television.
I used the first six words: guest, blowtorch, horizontal, groan, episode, action
(I can't wait to see what the others
did with blowtorch.)
DON'T ASK WHY by Granny Annie
This was a special day and
We never would have guessed
The party would be disturbed
By an uninvited guest.
We had been having fun
And laughing on
the porch.
As she arrived on her bike
Carrying a blowtorch.
Her black leather jacket
Bore crossbones and a skull.
Disembarking from her ride
The cycle became horizontal.
She staggered toward us
Every one reaching for a phone.
She fired her weapon,
Someone let out a loud groan.
Everything around us
Was beginning to explode.
There was little doubt
This would be a CSI episode.
What moved her to this action?
What caused her to appear
And change a simple gathering
Into a day of terror and fear?
Maybe you should switch to sitcoms, ;)

ReplyDeleteWay cool use of the prompt. A blowtorch is handy for torching people too I guess.. sounds like the opening scene of a meaty crime thriller, no pun intended.
