  2. My husband makes the worst purchases and years ago it was a security camera set-up that he thought we could use to watch animals, but he went on the cheap and it was a terrible resolution and everything looked shadowy and foggy.

  3. A brand new 2003 Saab and I couldn't even turn it into lemon juice, that's how bad it was. It drove me to drink box wine for a while there!

  4. The ugliest bridesmaid dress ever. I donated it to Goodwill and it was there months later. I didn't even like the bride much.

  6. I'm a cautious shopper so it's hard for me to think of something that I can remember being a bad purchase. Years ago, when we bought our current house, we pulled up all the nasty carpet and there was hard wood flooring marred with glue residue. This was at a time when we didn't know about OXY products, but I was lured into buying it from an TV infomercial only because I knew from chemistry classes what a predatory molecule oxygen was and I thought it made excellent sense, so I ordered it.

My husband and the other workers doing work around the house all laughed at me until they saw how well it worked on one little patch of the floor. It didn't take long before we were mopping the floor with the OXY powder and it worked very well.

I've bought shirts that I've never worn. That count's as a bad purchase.

  7. My first car I bought for $50 from a friend's husband who was a car salesman. It lasted half a day before throwing a rod. I drove it off the lot with almost no oil in it. I heard I out bid his Mother for the car.

  10. I don't know. I can't remember. I guess nothing so bad to have left a lasting impression...not one that immediately comes to mind, anyway.

  11. A marriage license.

  12. Expensive face cream, which worked no better than the regular stuff I always use. Never again!

  14. My daughter still likes that stuff! She's not picky - I like Reunite Lambrusco myself...

A (road) service thing from the tire place- I never used until it expired I'd forgot I had it. Had a 2 year one for this old computer that has been fixed twice in 16 years n still runs!

Then there's all the impulse clothes buying I did when younger. So much wasted cash...

  15. A "publishing" package from Author's House (a vanity press).

    Twice.

  16. I have bottles of wine delivered in a cardboard box. Now we understand that they don't deliver without checking first - I'm slow consumer- I appreciate not having extra to do a the super market and they give you the benefit of their expertise.
