COUNTRY LIVING

This is now my neighbors have helped heal me.

I actually had an ear of fresh sweet corn for breakfast this morning.  Why not?

Do  you know this trick to cooking corn in the microwave?

I've never liked that breakfast had to be confined to breakfast food. An ear of corn tastes better than corn flakes.

  4. Wow, I did not know that corn cooking trick. I will have to try it if I still remember it by the time corn ripens around here.

  5. Good healthy, lusty looking tomatoes. Nothing like fresh veggies.
Nope....I don't own a microwave but I just lay them on the grill.

  6. Fresh veggies will make anyone feel better! Wow to the tomatoes. I've cooked corn in the mico after husking and silking but this looks so much easier - will give it a try.

  9. Fabulous fresh vegetables and fabulous, generous, thoughtful neighbours!

I love fresh corn. I never use a microwave. I've never been fond of them. I have one but I've not used it for about 13 years...it's stowed away out in the back area collecting a ton of dust and cobwebs. I keep intending to take it to the local dump/refuse tip...I hope it doesn't refuse it! :)

Great to have you back, Annie!

And I agree. I reckon, as corny as it might sound, you should be able to eat for breakfast whatever you feel like eating for breakfast! :)

  10. I tried the microwave method before but never knew how to squeeze the corn out. I had trouble with the silk when I did it. Can't wait to try that method.
Hey, corn for breakfast sounds great. You sure have nice neighbors.

  17. That is a great trick for fresh corn, but an even better trick is knowing how to pick the best neighbors. Those veggies look delicious.

  19. You have wonderful neighbors, Annie. I tried the microwave thing, but I must have done something wrong. I probably cooked it too long. :- )
