BOBBING ALONG

We loaded up the van and we headed for Beverely....for the movies to see THE JUDGE.  The vote was unanimous among these friends from the Senior Center for all thumbs up.  But, reading the reviews this morning, I see everyone is not a fan, so I guess you will have to be THE JUDGE.

It showed some great courtroom drama and villains deserving the title.  It was a tough one to get through in some places but many of us have seen the same or worse in caring for persons with illness.Take a box of Kleenex  for both the crying and the laughing.

All the "Bobs" were great.  Robert "Bob" Duvall, Robert "Bob" Downey Jr., and Billy "Bob" Thornton.  Plus Vincent D'Onofrio did a great acting job in this so you can call him Bob if you want. He is a favorite of mine.

Here is a sketch of Billy Bob Thornton that I did on my
Kindle drawing app while watching
FARGO the TV series.

  3. With that many talented Bobs and Vinnie-Bob in the cast how can a movie go wrong?

I'm looking forward to watching "Gone Girl", but first I want to read the book.

I liked your drawing, but I noticed that you didn't include the vial of Angelina Jolie's blood around his neck. I guess he doesn't wear it anymore now that AJ's moved on.

  4. Terrific job with the caricature. Keep drawing and who knows one day we may see your drawings in magazines.
I very seldom watch movies in the theater. Between Indian movies and pay per view we manage to keep our selves busy.

That is a cool app and you did a great job. Might be a career there.

    1. ARKANSAS PATTI, I can really recommend it but a lot of times something I enjoy everybody else doesn't so I am a bit afraid to make a recommendation.I am sure glad I'm not having to depend on a career in art or I'd be starving to death! Lol

    1. BARB, the next movie I want to go see is fury with Brad Pitt. If your husband likes to sketch there are several apps he can load on his Kindle Fire and he will have a ball.

  7. Many of the reviews aren't positive re "The Judge"...but I like to judge for myself.

I am fan of all the major actors in the movie. And in particular, I'm a huge fan of Robert Downey Jr. I think he's quite wonderful.

I will get to see it eventually...it's on my list.

    1. LEE, when I read the reviews on the judge I couldn't help but notice that the younger generation didn't care as much for it as we oldsters did.

  8. You saw a film, n had folks to go with? cool! Was that a thumbs up?

That app looks like fun, n the markers don't dry up! Good job. Bet you'll get really great at that- Is it touch stylus, or like etch a scetch?

    1. SNAGGLE TOOTH, you really caught what I like about digital sketches. I could sure run through the markers when I was doing marker art also. Enjoy going to the movie with friends and I drive my van so I get to be in charge. Lol

  9. Great portrait of Billy Bob. I thought of drawing him the other night when I saw the Billy Bob Master Class interview on the Oprah channel. Very interesting man with a colorful background.

I will check out that movie, since I'm also a fan of all the Bobs. Thanks for mentioning it.

  12. Actually going to a movie theater is fun, huh? I keep just doing Netflix.

I'll have to see that one.

  13. LISA, why thank you so much:)

RIOT KITTY, you know how I enjoy my crazy portrait art. Thanks!

LYNN, Ron did not like to go to the movies and I learned not to miss it. I seldom go alone and do miss the "pause" button and "fast forward". But now that I have these senior friends, it is great to go as a group. They make any show a winner.

  14. Nice to know that you can agree on a movie. I hate about 80% of the movies that come ut, so would probably not be a useful member with your group.

  15. I had no idea that you could draw on Kindles. You learn something new every day. Neat drawing! I'll have to wait to see that movie when it's released on one of the movie networks, but I like the cast.
