A DISH OF KITTY

Princess Leia decides to try cat food for the first time.  Sitting in the middle of the dish seems quite appropriate for a princess.
Who is this creature joining me at the breakfast table and why did my mother and my aunt leave?
Hey, that big red one isn't very nice.  I'm outta here.
The little princess decides to watch from a safe place.
This is a fun kitten adventure, but sadly not all the adventures are as sweet.  David had the kittens well hidden in the chicken house and after I accidentally set the box on one of the kittens, she decided to move them again.  My next tragic mistake was to back over one of the kittens. David and Olive have kept the babies well hidden since then until this debut of Princess Leia showing up for a meal.  I am not sure at this time how many of the kittens are left.  Looks like I am turning out to be their worst predator:(

  1. Oh dear! I bet you feel terrible about that. It's a dangerous life out there.:-(
But the little princess is a savvy little doll & I hope she makes it. Think you'll keep her?

  2. It looks like that in spite of all the dangers of a kitty's life this little princess has a good chance of growing up to be queen of her kingdom (queendom?).

Princess Leia will probably go to a new home in Broken Arrow. I am sure that Luke Skywalker is okay as is Han and Chewy. They are David's children. The ones in trouble are the newest ones that Olive had.

It might be hard to let her go if the people in Broken Arrow want her. I guess that is if she is a she. I'm not sure yet.

I am hoping some others will come for breakfast soon so I can get a count on how many are okay.

No kidding. I better find homes for them. I am going to have Olive and David fixed as soon as I can catch them. Olive will be easy but David is very, very elusive.

  7. Little Leia is a treasure. I'm sorry to hear about the mishap. That must be a bitter pill. But I'm sure that on the balance the kitties are better off for having you around.

I try not to get too attached to the critters around here, but it is never easy to lose one. It was very cute the way Leia escaped then peeked out of her hiding spot.

I can only hope there is a kitty heaven:)

So happy to bring you a smile. I had one too watching the tableau unfold. Such a silly kitten and such pushy chickens:)

Isn't she cute! I saw three of her siblings last night and feel hope for others.

Hope you will have a wonderful Mother's Day too. Our surrounding storms will keep my children from visiting. I will feel better knowing they are not trying to get here because the best gift they can give me is their safety.

  14. She is gorgeous. I bet you feel terrible about the poor kitties. Never mind I hope the princess lives to a good age! My last two were nearly 22 years old when I lost them.

  15. Awww! So sweet! We have adopted adult kitties for a long time...I don't remember the last time I had a small kitten. They look so fragile.

  16. It is just awful when we inadvertently hurt those we are trying to protect. She is adorable and that was a cute picture story.

  17. I remember how our farm cats would have a litter of kittens, but by fall most would be gone. I now wonder if they befell natural and unnatural accidents?
