Not all seniors have grandchildren or even if they do, they might not carry pictures around.
I had a dear friend who loved it when people began sharing family pictures. She would grab her purse, pull out her wallet and proudly display a small photo.
"Have you seen my pride and joy?" she would ask with a delightful twinkle in her eye. Then she would pass around this small picture.
"Allow me to show you my pride and joy!" |
And every one breathed a sign of relief:)

ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be funny to have one of those accordion folders full of just these pictures and flip it open? That would scare the life out of a crowd. lol
Oh, how hilarious! Lol. Priceless!

ReplyDeleteAnd this lady could really carry it off. She made me laugh every time.
I want to meet this woman!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I'm sure she has made lots of people laugh. As many pictures as I take of my grandkids, I don't think I have any in my wallet...now my phone, that is another matter.

I carry a few pictures in my billfold but I don't have a smartphone so the ones on my phone are too hard to see. For some reason I've never been one to get the photos out.
Lynn
Isn't that the truth.
Sonny
Yep, you can show them of in very short order.
Aunt Betsy
She was an executive business manager for years working for one of Tulsa's largest law firms and so she had to have good sense of humor.
What a character. I would've loved to have known her.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteThat gave me a laugh. She continues to spread some cheer in her memory.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a small photo of my family too and now with smart phones....I show them the photo gallery hahahah...
ReplyDeleteHey, in our family, it was Uncle Buddy that always pulled out that picture in family gatherings to show us his pride and joy. Uncle Buddy passed away just a few weeks ago, but he will never be forgotten. Everyone loved him.

ReplyDeletePerhaps this will be a good Question Of The Week for me. Name a “character” you have known.
LL Cool Joe
It is clever. I might just have to start carrying this snap shot myself. It would certainly make my kids roll their eyes at me again when we gather for Thanksgiving.
Olga
Yes, I wonder how many other people tell this story about Evelyn.
Shionge
I think I might be dangerous if I had a smart phone. People would really get tired of looking at my chickens. Lol

I'm glad I could bring up this pleasant memory of Uncle Buddy at this time. He had to be one of the good guys. I am sorry for your loss.
Riot Kitty
You could put that picture among your pictures of your cats:)
Cathy
Sure, give it a go. People will either laugh or look at your like you're crazy.
Love someone with a sense of humor. I used to have a wallet chock full of pics of the grands. Now it's more like a plethora of pics on my Iphone.
ReplyDeleteI can see why she was a dear friend:)
ReplyDeleteBrighid
ReplyDeleteI think I am the last person on earth without an iphone.
Pat
She was a jewel.
Heh heh heh, I'll remember that one.
ReplyDeletelol! Loved this. And now they can get you hooked on the photos on the phone...endless photos: "See? This is little Johnny eating his cereal. Oh, and here's he's chasing the cat. Oh, don't look at that one, it wasn't in focus...and here's one of Johnny zipping up his jacket..." Yeah, it's worse than ever now. :)
