TLC and TLC

Everyone knows TLC stands for Tender Loving Care, but it also stands for Talking, Laughing, Crying.  Oops, I better call that second one TLCE for Talking, Laughing, Crying and.......EATING!  (I have already placed an order for Nutrisystems 7 day starter kit.)
You can easily see the pounds that I put on.  It's not just all in my face:(

My childhood friend Janet has returned to Colorado after a wonderful 9 days here.  We made many a beautiful scenic drive as the weather was in our favor almost all week.  We drove highway 10 to Tahlequah,OK which was our childhood stomping ground where we met in the fifth grade. That day we had lunch with two other childhood friends and toured the town.

Chapel at UMCH
Janet, Chris, Diane

The one day we were debating three choices of either a trip to Bentonville to the art museum or a trip back to Tahlequah for a blue grass festival or a drive to Grove for the Pelican Festival, it poured down rain and we filled that day with local flea market shopping.
Look closely toward the shore in the back and you can see some of the pelicans.

Of course we made a trip to Pittburg, Kansas to visit my sister and bil.  We were treated to a wonderful lunch at Chatters where Janet and I both ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich.  Oh No!! Oh yes:)

Nice picture of Janet on scenic route to my sister's.
We shopped in unique boutiques as well as numerous flea markets.  We ate in every favorite restaurant in this area but did not go to one casino.

I drove Janet to the airport yesterday and sent her back to Colorado but I cannot remember a time I have enjoyed a friend's visit more.  We took up just where we left off as children and did not miss a beat. She lost her precious husband Victor nine years ago and she was able to give me lots of comfort and hope.
As we entered one Mexican Restaurant we saw this artist signature on the outside mural.  I think Janet was tempted to call the number to see if she could reach Victor.

  6. Your time spent with Janet was just what the Doctor ordered for you..What a wonderful visit you had together.. I envy you .

    Nothing could be truer than:

    "Make new friends
    But keep the old,
    One is Silver
    And the other Gold."

Now here is one just for you and me.

    "You have one hand
    I have the other,
    Put them together
    We have each other."

  9. TLC stands for T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli to me!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends! Janet seems a really nice person, it shines through in her photos.

  10. That sounds like a fabulous visit!

So I kid you not, I thought this sentence: had lunch with two other childhood friends and toured the town.

read "had lunch with two other childhood friends and tortured them."

    :)

  13. Annie, It sounds like you gals had a wonderful visit! Janet may have flown home to bad weather. We're due for high winds in Denver and snow in the mountains. Good thing she'll have her memories of a great vacation to keep her warm!

  16. There is nothing quite so lovely as time with old friends. I love how we don't skip a beat even if it has been a long time since we last saw each other.

  18. Olga – It was a shot in the arm for both of us. Amazing how old friends are forever friends.

Lynn – We did have a good time and we both felt 12 again. Not that good a look on 67 year old women. Lol

Munir – Glad to see you here. You have been missing longer than I was. Hope all is well.

Jeanie – You are right, it could not have been better. If only we lived closer to each other!

Tabor – Nine days and there still wasn't enough time to cover everything.

Nancy – It does feel like you and I are often holding hands in cyberspace.

Brown English Muffin – Just think I met this friend when we were about Baby C's age. Help her value her friends.

Rae – Thank you for your kind words. It is strange to be out of touch with someone for so long and then get together as if we only saw them yesterday.

LL Cool Joe – You got that right, Janet is a really nice person. As for your TLC...you lost me there.

Riot Kitty – I cannot tell you how many times I have misread someone's post and come up with worse than “tortured them”. It might be a good question to ask sometime about what other people have first seen at a glance that was totally wrong. Often “liking” is seen as “licking” and that can really create a strange sentence change. Lol

Cliff – You are hearing well:)

Chatty Crone – We were both glad to have done this also.

Barb – You are so right. I heard from her right away that she was glad to be home because they were looking for a big snow. It was amazing how well the weather worked for us over the 9 day visit.

Cathy – I am going to try very hard to stay in touch with friends and family and get out more often. Janet and I were out of the house by 10:00 AM every day and that was definitely healing. Glad to see that you are home safe from you travels.

Talon – Silly conversation is more like it. Amazing how quickly we can return to children again.

Birdie – You are so right...it was a more amazing time than I could have imagined. Glad to see you are getting some relief from you asthma.
