LOST IN THE SHUFFLE

Do not lose the memory of the victims and the struggles of the 170 wounded in the constant displayed face of the youthful perpetrator.

  1. That's always the worst thing to me -- the narrow focus on the perpetrators and not on the innocent victims.

  2. Sorry for the double comment, Annie! And now I'm mucking up your comments even more!!

  3. We will see pictures of the bombers every day and I just hope this picture will help some see the victims every time that young captive's face is shown.

It's okay when you double post. Easy to remove the second comment. No problem.

  4. Don't you wonder why or how they can even do some thing like that? sandie

  5. It boggles my mind. He is two years older than my brother, whose worst thought is sarcasm.

  6. Good reminder. The perp becomes famous or infamous.

  7. You're absolutely right. We've got the perpetrators' faces ingrained in our psyche right now. We need to honor those who perished so senselessly.

  8. Chatty Crone -- Not only do I wonder, I am also shocked by the thought of who taught this boy and his brother. Were they lost to the world at ages 9 and 15 when they came here or did someone here indoctrinate them in the way of terror?

Riot Kitty -- My grandsons are all around the age and it also boggles my mind.

Charlotte Crawley -- I will picture this halo of victims around him every time I see his photo which will be shown on the news over and over. We know he will be painted with a wide brush while the victim will be pushed into the shadows.

Kay -- You said it..."We need to honor those who perished so senselessly". Amen sister.

  11. Betty Manousos -- Thank you for commenting. I was happy to find your unique blog and look forward to reading more. Yes, Chatty Crone was right about wondering.

  12. I agree, I don't understand why the media has to focus so much on the culprits---- all the time.
My son is a marathon runner in Hawaii, he sometimes does triathalon as well. I don't know what I would have done if this happened in Hawaii. Also my son was in Boston in the early nineties when he went to the college there.

  13. Munir -- My cousin runs the Boston Marathon and thankfully he was not there this year. The Boston police, officials and citizns handled this manhunt very well and stopped possibly many other tragedies.

  14. The Today Show gave a small but nice piece about the MIT guard (killed) and the transit guard (in serious condition) this morning. I was concerned about how they have been missed from the story.

  15. Hopefully the focus can now change to remembering those who have lost their lives and to those who are injured and their families.

  16. I guess being the relative of someone who made " the news " many years ago-- my thinking is , the victims are definately in our thoughts and prayers but the grieving families are very happy NOT to have mics in their faces , accompanied by being asked by 1000 different idiot interviewers, " how they feel?".. I mean seriouly, how they feel? I want to punch each one of those news folks every time they ask that question.
Since I also have one of those in my family I know for a fact " they PRAY" that something horrific will happen on their watch and they will be the first one on the scene and get the first interview.. They LIVE for it. this isnt just the one I know but I've sat in a room with more than 30 of them at a time all talking about getting " THE BIG STORY".. sad but very very true.

  17. Tabor -- Hopefully the media will continue to lend comfort to the victims and their families without trying to alter or embellish their stories.

Jeanie -- We can always hope, but it will never happen until the media begins to find the victims as interesting as the perpetrators.

Changes in the wind -- You're welcome:)

Sonny -- Having been a victim of violent crime, I know the memory will never leave any of them. They want to talk about it, but mostly to loved ones and not total strangers.

    ashok -- Absolutely.

  18. I am praying for those who were harmed and their families. It is such a tragedy for them.

  19. That's how I felt about Amanda Knox. All the attention was on her and the British girl, Meredith Kercher who was murdered, got no attention at all.

  20. I'm so filled with sorrow over these victims - I will remember them.

  21. This is true, but sadly, the media has already forgotten about the victims of this tragedy.

If it doesn't advance an agenda (i.e. Aurora and Sandy Hook), the media will either quickly forget about the victims (Aurora) or simply use them as referrals to the story at hand (Sandy Hook).

  22. This young man has set himself up for a tenured professorship and any one of several leading liberal Universities as soon as he gets out of jail.

  23. Belle -- As we drift farther away from their pain, the families are left grieving their losses for the rest of their lives.

LL Cool Joe -- I had already forgotten the name of Meredith Kercher.

Lynn -- Yes we must remember them as best we can.

G.B. Miller -- You are so right.

Cliff -- Ain't it the truth!
