IN CASE YOU FORGOT

Here is the sound of rain:)

Actually we finally had a lot of rain and strong storms last night, plus the rain is still falling this morning. Our temperatures are at 77 degrees but forecast to go to 100 before the day is over and back to the over 100s by tomorrow.

  1. Good for you guys. I hope it was enough to do some good.
They always say rain doesn't do any good unless the new wet layer goes down and meets the old wet layer. But since you guys, like us, don't have a lower wet layer anymore, then I guess this will have to start down to be the new wet layer. Okay, I'll go home.

  2. We got a little rain but it has been so hot it didn't make any difference.

  3. I'm so glad for you. My 5 year old granddaughter in Chicago called yesterday, excited about the thunderous rainstorm they were having. It was a flash storm. My daughter says that she wishes she had taken a video of watching the black clouds come over and just let loose.

Then I spoke to a friend in Alton, Illinois and they said they didn't get all that much. What a shame.

  4. Cliff -- Well it sure didn't meet any layer at all and it didn't make much of a new layer either. Our temps are already climbing like crazy. At least I sent you a video of 8 hours of rain sounds. You can close your eyes and pretend.

Tabor -- Ours didn't turn out to be enough to make much of a difference either but at this time beggars can't be choosers. At least the grass didn't crack like toothpicks when I walked over it this morning.

Kay -- Ours was more storm than rain. The lightening was close and our land-line phone literally woke us up with a bang when it blew out. It was even plugged into a power cord. Your daughter was right about taking video...we all should have just in case it's a long time before we see this again.

  5. We've just had so much rain that I've been up on the roof trying to fix holes where the water has flooded into our house. I have a bucket in the middle of our bedroom right now. Please I do not want to hear the sound of rain again at least until we get the roof fixed!!

  6. We had dire warnings from the National Weather Service all afternoon yesterday here in SE Pennsylvania but all we got was a lot of wind and darkness and NO rain.

My flowers and tomatoes are dying for some nice rain. Why is it that you can water with a hose for an hour and the grass and flowers don't like that as much as they love 10 minutes of a nice heavy rain?

    Hope you ran inside,Little Nancy.
