LIPSTICK SISTERS

"Happy Birthday Elenore, July 31, 2011"

I seemed to delight my sister with her birthday present this year. The above sketch has a great deal of meaning for both of us. First it was sketched from the last picture we took in one of those photo booths a few years ago. (Is there anything more fun that posing for those five shots?) Second, my sister is a lipstick fanatic. Stepping outside your front door without lipstick is a sin in her eyes. Thus the sketch title, Lipstick Sisters. ''

Love you Elenore and am so happy you liked this:)

Hope you got to comment on Monday's QUESTION OF THE WEEK about coincidences?

  2. That is a treasure! My two sisters and I posed for those five shots in a photo booth a few years ago when we were all in Jacksonville, FL for a wedding. My mom and dad said that everyone walking by smiles because of the rollicking laughter coming out of that booth. :)

And my mother wouldn't have walked to the mailbox without lipstick. She insisted on even putting it on as they were taking her to surgery once. Me - not so much. I'm a lip gloss girl (when I think about it.)

  5. Dear Annie ~~ Cute picture. The girls today don't seem to wear much lipstick or make-up. Great memories
    from earlier days.
Thank you for your comments on three months being a good result - I was happy with that result and we will see what happens then. Glad you liked the jokes - that Italian wedding test was funny and he was actually going to his car for condoms
Take care my friend, Love, Merle.

  7. Bonnie – Well we are “heart sisters” as well as lipstick sisters.

Lynn – Oh yes, I know that sound coming out of the booth. We laughed and laughed as well and it feels good just remembering it.

Ellymae – I will have to give you more sketches since it inspires you to comment on my blog finally! Surely it’s not the best gift you ever received cause I can remember many you’ve gotten that are lots better.

Tabor – Yes, it does make us both feel good to look at the sketch and remember the fun we have had all our lives together.’’

Merle – I still wear bright red nail polish and lipstick and my granddaughters think I’m way out of today’s “normal” appearance

LL Cool Joe -- So honored that you like it. It sounds like she had a totally great BD!
