QUESTION OF THE WEEK 6-20-11

Did you know exactly where "it" was so "someone" must have moved it?

(What was the last thing you lost? Did you eventually find it? Did someone else take it or did you simply misplace it? Were you actually holding the item while you were looking for it? Can you easily find lost items for other people but never for yourself? If you say you never lose things, you are either lying or not of this planet!)

  1. The light bulb blew in the bathroom the other night- n it took hours to find one- knowing I'd bought some in the past year. Nope, none in the cluttered supply closet.. Finally found some old, 60w bulbs stored inside a years old box.
Then after I'd given up searching for the newer, energy saver ones, there they were in plain sight on a dresser by the back room door!
I'd walked by it how many times?
Can't see the forest for the trees in here...

  2. Just too many to mention I'm afraid. The latest: my toothbrush charger. Fortunately MTL's seems to fit. If I lose my glasses I'm hopeless - it seems to affect all my senses and there is a panic alert:)

  3. I had some treasured earrings - my brother-in-law bought them for my sister on an Army trip to Iran around 1985. She gave them to me because she doesn't wear dangly earrings and I do. And about 10 years ago, one of them simply disappeared. They were in a tray on my dresser with other earrings I wear often and only one of them was there. I looked on the floor, the laundry hamper, everywhere. I never did find it and I am still mystified (and sad) - it seems as though I would have known I was taking off only one earring the last time I wore them, so I can't think what happened.

  5. Annie,

Like you I had lost some weight and my gold wedding band slipped off of my finger and I could not find it.

I searched this entire house for a week looking everywhere but it was gone.

I continued my usual routine of household stuff but never stopped looking for that ring.

After 10 days I had resigned myself to never finding it and went to put a load of clothes in the washer and there was my ring on the floor near the washer.I could not believe it because I had used that washer several times in the almost two weeks the ring was missing.

The only explanation is Divine Providence. I said a prayer to St. Anthony who is the patron saint of lost articles and he helped me find my ring!

  6. As for my mind, I still haven't found it ;) (You knew that was coming, didn't you?)

  7. The older I get the more I lose. I find most things - some things no. I do worry a little about myself at times - lol.

  8. Oh I lose stuff all the time. My glasses (normally on my nose) my credit card, my car keys etc. They always turn up again, normally somewhere weird.

  9. Not long ago I lost my right hearing aid. I looked everywhere, even in the car and was about to empty the waste basket beside my chair to see if it had fallen in there.
I can't tell you how silly I felt when I realized it was in my ear.
Yes we do lost things. Thank goodness I found my hearing aid. Those critters are expensive to replace!

  10. I actually do not lose stuff often, but hubby does and I spend lots of time looking for his stuff. Last thing I lost was probably a garden tool. I am such a bore.
