BALD IS BETTER
The sleep study is over. Now the wait is on. It will be 3 - 14 days before I know the results. Thankfully my technician was a riot and kept my mind off any inhibitions. He talked and joked as he applied electrodes to me for about 1 1/2 hours. For once in my life I was glad to be bald headed. They use so much glue I cannot imagine how a person with a full head of hair can contend with the gunk. Mine was a "split sleep study" and this link will take anyone who is interested to a website that explains all the ins and outs of the study.
Meanwhile back at the ranch my poor dog Slim could not understand why I would leave home at dark and she stood in the van parking spot and howled for me until Ron made her come inside. She greeted me joyfully at 4:30 AM when I returned home still in the dark.
My son (chaperone) and his three Pride of Broken Arrow Band children head for Grand Nationals this week. They will compete on the weekend and there is a chance our friend Nora of Chez Pez will get out there to see them. Wouldn't that be great?! The band has already won local, state and district competitions and we are pretty convinced that they have a show that will take the prize in Indiana.

Glad the test is behind you and am anxious to know the results. The picture of the band is really neat.
ReplyDeleteKenju and Tabor, it was terrifying going into the hospital after regular hours. I had to enter by the emergency room door and no one was around. My sister was on the phone with me as I looked for someone. Leaving was almost as bad but I explained my fears and the technician walked out with me.
ReplyDeleteLynn -- it is lovely to be be so loved by my doggie. No I had no problem falling asleep. Actually that is my big problem, I can't stay awake and when I sleep, it is fitful and noisy sleep and not restful. I'm hoping to start getting some restful sleep.
Changes -- Thanks for the well wishes for the band. Yes, I too, am very glad this part of the sleep study is behind me.

Awww! Sometimes I wish animals could speak so we could tell them what's what. They get so used to our regular routines.

Dani -- I hope they can too. It is amazing the number of things that poor sleep can do to a person.
ReplyDeleteShionge -- I have a few ceramic and glass bells but my favorite ones are the brass bell figurines. I only have about 12 of those.
Talon -- My dog believes she had two jobs. One is to guard our property and the other is to guard me. Usually Ron and I leave together and I guess Slim trusts him to watch after me. It must have really confused her for me to leave by myself. LOL Thanks for your good thoughts on my test results.
Lucy -- I know you feel exactly what I feel about the band. We've both done time as band parents and now I'm a band grandparent. I'm afraid I'm not as active as I was as a parent but I'm still behind them 100% They won First place in 2006. The last two years they have made finals in position 6. We're hoping for them to make the finals and for them to at least do better than 6th.

ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the sleep test gives a conclusive result and a treatment that not only helps you sleep better but helps with your general sense of well being. You deserve that for being such a good person to everybody.
My grandson is in the marching band at his school in Connecticut and I will tell him about the Pride of Broken Arrow band and I'm sure he will be hoping they will win the big competition...
