TEACH THE CHILDREN WELL

Yesterday we had lunch at the Chinese Buffet. A family was seated behind us and the waitress ask the child "How old are you?". The child replied that she was five. When the waitress walked away the child exclaimed, "Oh no, I told her my age wrong!". "That is okay" the mother said," we need to keep from paying more for you as long as we can."

The family then proceeded to the buffet, filled their plates, came back to the table and waited until all were seated to join hands and say the blessing before their meal.

  2. I think you might be missing my sarcasm. They teach the kid to lie and then act all saintly.

  3. Pathetic...people don't even know the differnce anymore. The one that kills me is the commercial of the teen asking her Mom if she had seen her shirt and Mom responds "you know that's not my style" and then it flashes back to her out with the girls with the shirt on"

  4. Ooh - lying. Not good. Great observation, GA.

  5. Wow, that is really obnoxious of that family. OK to lie and to cheat - great lessons for a little kid!

Funny story though - I went to see a movie with my family when I had just turned 13 and my mother said I was 12 because she forgot (my b.day was literally a couple of days before.) I got so upset! I wanted to be acknowledged as a teenager. Sounds very silly now.

  6. "Oh my," is all I can say.

  7. Tsk, tsk. I've heard/seen that happen too and you just know the kid is older and they are lying about it. If I were a restaurant owner, I would have a hard time keeping quiet about it.

  8. Naughty naughty! It didn't even phase them to pray after they lied. Tsk Tsk!

  9. I'm one of the folks who don't think it's okay to lie to save money, n especially to let a child think it's a good thing to do!
    Unacceptable!

  10. I caught your sarcasm. I guess they are really trying to teach the child that even though lying is a sin....God will forgive you for cheating a business out of it's due. Unfortunatley that child is now going to think they are going to get in trouble for telling the truth.

  11. Rolls eyes. This is EXACTLY what is wrong with much of the world. They ignore their own misdeeds and justify them without a qualm.

  12. That kid is being trained to become a politician...
