YOU ARE GOING TO SAY YOU KNEW HIM WHEN

© Michael Graft/2010

Many of you have followed the artwork of my grandchildren. You know that Michael has gained a lot of recognition and awards for his work that I have shown on my blog since he was 11. Now, before he has even reached his 16th birthday, he has been commissioned to design the CD cover for an album by heavy metal band VITRELOY. Here is his finished design. I am so very proud of him.

  6. That is a great achievement you must be very proud!

I once did the artwork for a t-shirt for the singer Bobby Vee, and seeing my design being worn but other people was a wonderful feeling. :)

Wow, congratulations to your VERY talented grandson!! That's really something, to be commissioned for an album. At any age, but 16?? He is GOOD!

Thank you for your comments on my blog all those weeks ago. I am so sorry for how long it took me to come around and visit back! Been way too busy with work.

So, there are 9 of us in the ART SAVES round robin and it's the same format - every third week a mailing. It's kind of confusing to keep track of which one is which, especially because several of the same people are doing both. But I'm having so much fun with both and how awesome to have 2 books packed with artwork to look forward to having as my very own!

Hope you had a great 4th and a wonderful weekend!

  11. Very gothic-game styled design. good perspective. Hope the cd sells well so he gets alot of exposure leading to more projects.

I did a cassette cover art awhile back- I should start working on CDs for myself... (n some T-shirts too)

As you might (might not) know, I'm a long-time legitimate artist that no longer produces, but I used to sell my paintings at juried art shows. (you had to be passed by a jury of professional artists before being allowed to show your work).

It has been YEARS since I've even seen an ADULT who had a grip on perspective as does your grandson!

(I'm a nit-picker where perspective, angles and shading is concerned) and I wish I 'knew him when'.

    Congratulations to BOTH of you.
