AIN'T WE GOT FUN

This 10 of 10 in 2010 project has really got my folk art juices flowing. I am showing a portion (above) of my latest "markering" that went out for the project. It was an exciting decision to try incorporating my own chicken's feathers in the picture for the sake of modesty. You can peek behind the feathers. LOL I am hoping the recipient will be able to identify a resemblance to themselves in the face of the picture.
Then I got off the project track when I decided if I can incorporate my chicken's feathers, why not incorporate my extra eggs in some kind of art project? Here is a sample of that. Water bottle and pop bottle plastic lids work great as stands for the painted eggs.

I got off track again from the project by making a quick "markering" sketch from a picture on one of the blog friends sites.

And off track again as I was inspired for this fellow I call Thunder-dome by a postcard my goddaughter sent from her most recent trip to Hawaii.

Who needs a computer with their artistic emotions are flowing through their veins?

(I think I can safely be back now. I hope I can anyway.)

  3. I love your clean lines, Annie. The marker art is wonderful!

And a bird on an egg? That might solve that age-old query "Which came first? The chicken or the egg?" Maybe they arrived together!

  4. Dani -- Of course you can save the picture to your computer. I was hoping you would stop by and see it. You know how much I loved you photograph.

Lynn -- Thanks. I think "unique" is a good word.

Talon -- My eagle on the egg is appropriate, yes and so is the rooster I have on another one. There is also one with a squirrel as I enjoy doing more. And I have several nudes on eggs. Now that will have to count as unusual. LOL

  8. Annie, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I found this blog, http://www.chickenblog.com/, the other day and thought of you. :)

I always enjoy reading your blog and missed you when you were gone those few days.

I enjoyed looking at the marker drawings. I can't quite figure out what the 10 of 10 project is, but it sounds interesting.

  9. Tabor -- There is a lot of joy in working with color either in textile work or art work. I especially love bright, vibrant colors.

Pat -- You are so right. I don't understand the thrill of painting on an egg but it is great. Now my daughter does Pysanky eggs and that is real, unbelievable art. She also carves Ostrich eggs with very intricate lace work.

LZ Blogger -- I have visited you before introduced by Jamie Dawn whom we all miss. Thanks for your nice comment.

  13. Lovely creativity!
I'm sure I'd concentrate more on non-puter arts if I were forced (Like during the summer os '07)
    But yes, inspiration certainly helps!
I actually have a bird feather collection- n would use those Chix dusters for wall pieces too- Love the multi-media stuff-
I've been known to oil paint on strange things like dresser drawers n clear plastic CD "Cookies" from the stack ends.
Now how about making an eagle out of the fluffy feathers?
Nice Thunderdome too, btw- my fave
gives a great feeling to see it!
