BREAKING NEWS

If you did not get this follow up comment on my previous post, here is my report on Slim:

Thank you dear friends for your concern about Slim. Today we report back to the vet and it appears we will be telling them that Slim is 100%. We probably will never know what caused this sudden ailment but at least we won't be as frightened if it happens again. Rachel, your guess might be a good one. Slim runs and jumps and goes at life with great gusto. She thinks that she can fly and sometimes we believe she can. She is our kid and as much as we want to keep her safe, we have to let her do her thing or she wouldn't be the happy girl she is. Thanks again everyone!

Other big, big, breaking news for today is about granddaughter Beth. She had her final try out for the Broken Arrow Pride Color Guard and the names of the girls who made it were posted on the school website yesterday. Much to our delight and happiness, Beth was on the list. Now my son has three children participating in Oklahoma's most outstanding high school band The Pride Of Broken Arrow Marching Band!

Today was a highlight day for me in my marker art. I mailed off my first sketch book as part of Ily's another day in paradise, 10 for 10 creative art project. We have been invited to prepare ten books with ten artists of varying venues. These books are to be forwarded around through November, 2010 when the project will come to a close. It sounded like fun when first mentioned but I had no idea how thoroughly exciting this would actually be to see off the first package and await the first that will come to me this week. Some are showing their art work, but I might wait a while to post mine on my blog.

  1. I'm relieved to read that Slim is doing better. One of my huskies, Jesse, threw out her back a couple of weeks ago and she was unable to walk as a result. I did what you did- ran to the internet, looked up the symptoms and narrowed it down to a list of conditions which were all completely wrong!

It turned out all Jesse needed was a regimen of steroids, muscle relaxants and lots of attention. She milked it for what it was worth. And it sounds like Slim may have gone through something similar. I'm glad the weight of worrying over her has been alleviated.

  4. Fantastic news about Slim! You're right - it's hard to keep an active dog from being just that so I'm glad Slim's back in full action.

Congratulations to your granddaughter, Beth! That's exciting.

And I look forward to seeing your artwork, Annie!

  12. On Ily's "Best and Worst" you commented: "I always worry about what I might have said to someone else to hurt them."

The thought impressed me so much, I just had to visit and thank you--I believe you are the only commentor (I read them all? 42? Geeze!) who did not write in the fashion (as I also did) "It's all about me..."

It is high time that I and others begin to think about what I did, or can do for this world and it's Peeps.

    PEACE!
