HERE WE GO AGAIN

MORE SNOW? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!

WHAT SLIM IS SEEING OUT THE WINDOW THIS MORNING.

The first event arrived last night. It was the "ice event". The second event is here now. It is the "snow event". The bad news -- my Oklahoma City family members are hard hit once more. The good news -- our area is not going to get it as badly as originally forecast. It is now all up to Punxsutawney Phil on Tuesday to let us know how much longer this winter is going to last. I'll use this boring weather post to update you on the movies I have seen through all these home bound conditions.

The following are the movies I gave four or five stars:

INTO TEMPTATION (Jeremy Sisto)
MERRY GENTLEMEN (Michael Keeton)
500 DAYS OF SUMMER (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)
NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH (Kate Beckinsale)
SUNSHINE CLEANING (Amy Adams)
THE WAY OF THE GUN (Benicio Del Torro)
JULIE & JULIA (Meryl Streep)

I gave these three stars but debated between that and four stars:

SUGAR (Algenis Perez Soto)
THE INFORMERS (Billy Bob Thornton) Giant "R" rating so go there with caution.

What movies have you seen lately that you would recommend?

Oh and let me tell you this. I have had HURT LOCKER on my Netflix list since in first became available four weeks ago. It has a "long wait" and I can't get it. I mentioned it to my sister and she added it to her list and she got it the next day! Again, the story of my life.

  1. I was thinking about you as I watched the weather this morning. Dear me, I've only seen Julie/Julia on your list. I better get busy. That is one of my favorites. The Blind Side is another.

    Thanks for your visits.

  3. I hate ice - makes it impossible to go anywhere. I like your movie solution. I loved Julie and Julia!

  4. Oh! Snow on top of ice is a bad and dangerous thing. I am glad you are staying in.

I am not much of a movie watcher anymore. In fact, the last one I saw was UP. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it. It isn't just a kid movie, there is much in it that went over their heads but lodged right in my heart.

  5. Hi Annie,

I have been thinking of you a lot today as the Weather Channel shows pictures of the storm you are having.

One thing I am happy about is that you still have power. I was afraid your blog wouldn't appear because you had no electricity but glad that's not the case.

I had told Roy about David and the hen, so today when that dire weather report came on I said,"I'll bet David and the hen are snuggled up today."

Slim looks very sad looking out that window.

  6. Snow is a 4-letter word.

Haven't seen the movies you mentioned.

Last night I watched a film that I liked called "The Reading Room. A good, true story and James Earl Jones gets a thumbs up!!!!

  8. Basquiat was a good one, a little funky and edgy, if you like that.

I can't believe I still haven't seen Julie & Julia. You've reminded me to add that one to my list...and I love Michael Keeton. I had no idea he was still making movies.

If there's another film I see and like, I'll be sure to come back and tell you about it.

PS - Nice photo of Slim! :)
