MICHAEL'S ART

Michael can enjoy himself anywhere as long as he has pencil and paper. Remember this young man is only 14. Can you imagine what he will do when he is older? I am so proud of his abilities in many areas and his drawing ability amazes me most.

Yesterday we entertained Michael by taking him to Aunt Elenore's. She is the best spoiler of children on the planet. Tons of fresh baked cookies were cooling on the counter when we walked in. Michael was allowed to select whatever lunch he wanted and he picked Sonic. Next Michael was allowed to select the movie we would watch. He picked THE BOY IN STRIPED PAJAMAS......that's a four Kleenex box movie.

Today Michael's sister will arrive. Hope is 6. Michael's King-of-the-castle life shall crash into oblivion as the wild child of Borneo arrives to keep us all on our toes every second of the days ahead. Pray for us:)

  1. Tell Michale I LOVE his work and I'm an illustrator. Natural ability like that is something to be proud of.

I hope the wild child and the whole gang have a fun weekend! It's great that Michael got some alone time, first.

  3. Rachel and Monica, Michael has seen your comments and is very pleased to have his gift recognized. I can tell him it's good but somehow he thinks I have to say nice things. LOL

  4. Well, Michael, I Don't have to say nice things,BUT I will anyway.

I think your drawings are excellent. You have a real talent and I hope you keep it up.

I love all of your drawings but the hammer is my favorite. You took a very ordinary tool and turned it into a work of art...

  6. Wow, he is extremely talented!!!
Sounds like you have been having lots of fun too!

I was reading about the lamb's quarters. My mother used to pick this with her other wild greens. I'm not sure I could recognize it, but it sure looks familiar like a weed we have around sometimes, and that's the way it's described in the link you gave! I love spinach, and all greens for that matter!

You might have to eat some spinach to keep up with Hope!! Heehee!

  12. Ha, ha... big brothers and sisters have to MOVE OVER when their younger siblings make THEIR entrance.
Michael can handle letting Hope be princess of the castle since he got to have Sonic and plenty of spoiling BEFORE she arrived.
    :-)
His artistic ability reminds me of someone I know...
Hmmm... who is it I am thinking of?
    YOU, of course!
At 14, he is already excellent. He will only excel over time. I am very impressed!!!!

  19. I am catching up on my blog reading.... and had to stop reading to tell you that Michael's drawings are incredible!!!!

As a fellow artist, I want to encourage him to continue using this wonderful and impressive gift of art that he has. His attention to detail is especially lovely.

I can remember carrying around a sketch book with me all of the time at that age...great memories.

I hope that the rest of the grandkid time was great! I certainly can understand your exhaustion!
    Take care!
