My son called with the sad news that Chris died yesterday. He found her curled up peacefully with their dog in the utility room. This seventeen year old gal was my son and his children's best friend and she always knew who was sad and needed comforting. Ryan, almost 16, especially adored Chris. It was amazing to read Renie Burghardt's World story about her cat on her blog today. If you can take the tears, you must go read it.
I'm sorry to hear about Chris. Pets are amazing, so comforting and loving. I have a tabby mix named Tabitha that I found wandering the streets of Homestead after Hurricane Andrew in 1992! She's feisty AND lovable, a little like her owner. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for the loss of this kitty. We can't help but mourn the loss of our pets. They bring so much comfort into our lives..
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the cat.
ReplyDeleteI have already cried twice today, so I can't see anything else that will be sad.
Very sad news about your son's kitty, Chris. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking. Time will ease the pain, but their memory will always remain in our heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the mention of my cat story. He has been gone a long time, but his spirit will always be with me.
Take good care, Granny Annie.
Renie
Hi Annie, I am sorry about the death of your cat. You will remember him for a long time.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Jim has a rule, # 101. If something or someone dies or leaves we won't replace it and/or it/they can't come back.
Rules are meant to be broken. Each of our kids has come back for at least a two week stay, some 25 times or more than that. Now we have two dogs after Toto died.
The fish and the cat have not been replaced.
..
Oh, dear, it's always such a loss, such an emptiness.
ReplyDeleteI'm here and catching up on your blog posts that I have missed. Your daughter is a lovely person!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you won't get the high speed internet after all. You would have loved it!
I'm very sorry about your son's cat. It is so hard to lose them. Been there. Done that. It's sad.
Renie's story was well worth reading..just beautiful. Thanks, Granny.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about Chris. I lost my two at 20 yrs old (them, not me!!!) and if I let myself really think about them, it still breaks me up.
Blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving. xxxx
Renie's story is so touching!
ReplyDeleteOh, my great niece really enjoyed her coloring page!! She was 4 this past Sunday. Thank you again!!
Oh Annie, I am so sorry. We lost all three of our cats between May 2007 and July 2008. Two of them were 20, but still!
ReplyDeleteWe have two new sweet boys from the shelter now.
I like most animals more than most people...they're always happy to see you, never b.s. you about anything, and they get extra points if they cuddle with your mate :)
So sorry to hear about Chris. It is heartbreaking.I can relate with this post.
ReplyDeleteTo lose a pet is so difficult. To have a cat for 17 years is a tribute to loving care and your son should be proud of knowing she had such a long and joyful time on earth.
ReplyDeleteI loved the story so thank you for linking me to it.
