NOMINATIONS BY CATEGORY - 80th Academy Awards

I have only seen three of the movies mentioned on the ballot and none of the three are nominated for best picture. I saw Gone Baby Gone, Bourne Ultimatum and 3:10 To Yuma. I did like all three of those. Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone is nominated for best supporting actress.
If I didn't have Netflix, I wouldn't have seen any of these.
Have you seen the movies and if so, which do you think will win the Oscars. I would not be nearly as excited about this if my goddaughter didn't work for the Academy.
I saw three of those nominated for best picture and I didn't like any of them but that doesn't surprise me....their taste and mine never run together.
ReplyDeleteI saw Juno (and loved it). Even though I have not watched many of the films, I'll be glued to the ceremony.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Nora. Juno is terrific! I saw it with my daughter, and we both loved it.

I saw Atonement, but I didn't care for it. It was beautiful to look at, but it lacked something for me.
I usually see movies after they've left the theater either on Pay Per View or on Showtime or HBO. Sometimes, I do see movies in the theater with my daughter, but not that often. She sees a lot of movies with her boyfriend since they are both studying filmmaking.
They are having an Oscar party tomorrow night with some college friends. I'll tell her about the print out ballot, so they can all choose their picks before it starts.
