ESPIONAGE

Happy Birthday to my spouse:-) Because of his extreme frugality, we either give each other the same card from previous years or we stand in Wal-Mart together and hand each other appropriate cards to read then put back on the shelf.

Here is an excerpt from card I give him every year.

"Day by day
you've been the kind of man
who keeps his promises
who tries to make a difference with his life.

And day by day,
as years have flown,
and love has kept us ever close,
I've been so proud to be your wife."

The sentiment is very true. Another sentiment was seen on a sign in Charleston, SC that I wanted to buy. It read, "If you are looking for a husband......it is obvious you've never had one." LOL

A little more about our trip. As usual our travel began with a national alert going out that Ron would be hitting the highways. This caused a rash of enemy drivers to station themselves along our route. They would intentionally get in front of us and slow down to a snails pace, especially in no passing zones. Others waited to enter the expressway until they could pin us between them and a semi, causing Ron to disengage his cruise control. Quite often a vehicle with an unsecured load would be launched in front of us and put us in extreme peril. Some people were assigned to move direction signs, only to return them before we backtracked and found the right exit. Definitely espionage.

Thankfully we, once again, avoided all the traps, had a good trip, and Ron avoided RRHA (road-rage-heart-attack) and is here with me to celebrate another year. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON! I LOVE YOU.

Jeez, a driving trip. I barely remember them!! My car only knows its way to the Corner Tavern -- about a mile away.

  4. Happy Belated Birthday wishes to your Ron. I love your take on traveling on the highways...I didn't know anyone else felt that way and you have such a delightful way of putting it down in writing. I laughed as I read it.

I also noticed on Jamie Dawn's site that we have the same political views. hehehe Not that I ever discuss politics on my blog, but just because I don't, doesn't mean I don't have any.

You said you visited near Eddyville. My brother lives in Marion just a rocks throw from there. Thanks for visiting and please come back.
