WFW TIS THE SEASON

Once again Elephant's Child provided our Words for Wednesday and I selected the first six.  I combined them in a Christmas theme and I hope the reach doesn't bother anyone.  The picture is also a digital painting that I made for the season.  Wishes and love to all my blog friends Merry Christmas and to all those who have different but equally sincere religious celebrations.

Words are:  root, fortuneteller, funeral, gushing, carriage, bake

TIS THE SEASON by Granny Annie

“Merry Christmas one and all!”
Was played upon the flute.
It was the special holiday time
Where one religion has it root.

First celebration of a birth
Next celebration a funeral.
Not told by a fortuneteller
Our One God made it doable.

Shepherds, Wisemen gathered round
The blessed baby gushing
While soldiers planned to follow
With mayhem and with crushing.

The expected babe announced
Even before the marriage.
They rode to Bethlehem on a donkey
And not a King's royal carriage.

There was not snow in this time.
They felt the desert's bake
To say welcome to our Savior
Who lived and died for our sake.

STAY TUNED

I don't have my Words For Wednesday ready yet, so this post will entertain you until I am done. Probably will be Friday.
The hat may be tipsy but I am not...I swear.

Even snow children can be rebellious.
Eggnog? Some people left our more than cookies for Santa:-)

ARE WE ALONE?

Question Of The Week 12-19-16

Do you believe there is intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe?
(Comments are added to this page after you post them.  Thanks for your responses.)

Heck, yeah! We learned that from Star Trek! :)

To be truthful I don't know but I also don't care. We have enough problems with what we have.

My guess is that yes there is. The real question, of course: Is there intelligent life here on earth?

I truly believe that we have to have massive egos to think that we are ALL there is to it, and that has nothing to do with God. No reason to believe He only created us!

We need to feel we are not alone.

I know not. But sometimes think that the surest sign of intelligent life is that they have NOT contacted us. We need to learn to be housetrained here on our own planet before we could be welcome guests anywhere else.

It is not a belief, but I figure the odds are certainly in favor of it.

Oh I certainly hope so and I hope they have a plan how to fix us and make us nicer.

Yes, I do believe there's intelligent life in the universe, but will they be friendly. Let's hope that if they say they want to serve man, they don't mean as in a cookbook. Yikes.

There's none here so I guess there could be some elsewhere! :)

If there is other intelligent life, they will stay hidden and not make themselves known to us! Have a wonderful holiday and a happy 2017!

There HAS to be.
It just isn't possible that in this vast universe we are the only ones.
I just wish we could find them, or they could find us.

I just don't see how there couldn't be. I'm sure they won't look the same, but they're out there... somewhere.

I'm not sure about "intelligent" life, but definitely life. I don't believe we are the only living beings that make up the universe.

Love this comment.

Ditto that.

Of course. I took college astronimy. The prof said that maybe if only 5% of the billions of planets have carbon-based life, mabe a few have humaniods in different stages of civilization, n maybe 1% of those are at the space-flight stage.... it is more likely there is someone out there, than not - but not at a planet close by.

The closest likelihood is Alpha Centuri, I remember one in Orions' Belt area n near the Horse-head Nebula.

If some are here they are way past our knowledge!

In many ways, I hope we are not alone in space. But then again, what if they aren't human-friendly? So it's a gamble. On the one hand, we could make contact with a race of beings that have the answer to immortality and the cure for cancer. On the other hand, we could be opening ourselves up for intergalactic slavery and annihilation. It's 50-50, really.
There's a happy thought for you, hmm?
Btw, I finally found you!
