She usually gained 15-20 pounds a year and then had to work to get them off, just like some of her patients.<br /><br />So one year she didn't diet, but made herself walk for 40 minutes, four times a week. Rain or shine, sick or well, in town or out, she did it no matter what.<br /><br />At the end of the year she had not lost weight (eating what she wanted, not dieting at the same time) but she had not gained and stayed at her chosen weight. Her hips slimmed, her clothes fit better, and she had more stamina.
