We couldn't have had one last year anyway due to the drought. I love butternut, b...You're making me hungry...<br />I love butternut, but it's a bit of work. Cut it in chunks, take the seeds out, peel it back to the orange, then boil about 20 minutes, add butter salt n pepper, then mash. I like brown sugar or honey in it too too. <br />I still have one to cook here. Think you can microwave it cut in half n wrapped in plastic also, but haven't tried that yet except with spagetti squash. <br /><br />Yep, I've been growing peas, beets, thyme, carrots, n cukes on the deck this year. Last two still haven't produced yet. The pepper seeds never sprouted.
